I've been trying to setup my '13 1199R for racing with little progress with my suspension crew.

Basically, we cannot seem to put its full power and potential to the ground.

Getting good drive out of corners without pushing wide is the issue along with managing head shake.

For those racers who feel have established a good setup on their R, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you!

I am in the same boat. Same bike. I am just looking for a baseline to start from. I understand each rider is different. I am also trying 190/55 GP212 dunlops. What tires are you using?

Are you using the OEM suspension? My personal belief is that this bike gives a slight sense of pushing the front.

What's your swingarm length set to (center of countershaft to center of rear axle)?

Perhaps contact Dan Kyle or Dave Moss for some suggestions...
I did and they were more than happy to share their thoughts...

You could also see if Shane Turpin would provide some help. One of the fastest Ducati riders in the country.

Racing my base 1199 for 1 year current set up
Maxton suspension back and front (new cartridges inside the Marzocchi forks and new rear shock)
14 x 39 moving the swing arm fully back
Dunlop KR108 195 Rear and 125 Front makes a huge difference to turning in and on Exit the tendency to run wide is less (returns when the rear gets worn).
Have changed from the 24.5 to 24 degree kit (i believe the 2015R has 5mm offset and 23.5 degree rake ?
Looking into retro fitting the R swingarm adjustable lowering kit anyone tried this mod and did it make much difference, the 1299 arrangement looks like the swingarm pivot points have been lowered at the engine casings to achieve the 4mm drop.
Termi slip ons 165rwhp.

You might want to check out Kope's build thread for some ideas. Also, this guy seems to be pretty happy with whatever setup that Attack figured out for him.

I thought seriously about not sharing this but I'm a racer and I would not mind sharing my data with other racers. I have worked with Attack Performance to analyze the chassis with MotoSpec Chassis Software to figure out spring rate, swingarm position (R), sprockets, front and rear ride height, etc. This info WILL give you fantastic handling on a Base, S or R model but I can't give it away for free. If anyone, who is serious, is interested in this information I can provide details chassis data including anti-squat as affected by gearing, swingarm length and angle. No mess, no fuss. Just data that will make the bike handle like a dream.
