Has anyone done it ? Pics ? Apparently you also need the wiring from the S for it to work. And anyone selling there S lights and wiring as I'm keen on buying or know of anyone ? Cheers

I almost bought the base and enquired from the factory as to whether they would install led's and they wouldn't as it requires a complete different wiring harness. I bought the 's' in the end and haven't heard of it being done. I'm sure it can with a few $$$, good luck

last time i looked into

Headlight unit is $900 US
Wiring Harness is something like $1500-$2000US

prices are retail

Wiring harness $1301.99
Light unit itself $1726.99
6 hours of labor $570 @$95/hr

$3600! Even if you did it yourself, that's crazy. I'd wait for a few crashed bikes to hit the market and get one that way.

headlights unit can get alot cheaper on ebay but have yet to see any wiring harness for sale outside of ducati :(

dam!! If anyone needed a reason for the extended warranty, there it is!

Note to self: Purchase extended warranty!

on a semi related note, what is the average lifespan of the LED's AND how much would it be to replace?

Most likely LED's will outlast your bike. Approx 15 years. But it also puts more heat out. not on the bulb but on the back end that's why the S/Tri has those huge heat sinks to dissapate the heat. If the designers did it right it should last a very long time if not it could be shorter.
