1199S Won't Start

Searching around the forums but can't seem to find one that fits my problem profile.

My bike's electricals turn on when I put the ignition key to ON but it won't start when I hit the starter button - not even any clicking noise or any signs of turning over/cranking.

I can hear the fuel priming and I also checked battery voltage and it checks out.

The only thing that happened between now and the last time I used the bike is that it rained last night (more like sprinkling) and it's not the first time it's been out in the rain without a cover but it's the first time it has done this.

Also, there are no check engine lights of any sort, everything starts as normal except for the starter button part.

I tried it again a few hours later after it's been in the sun and dried out and still to no avail.

It's a 2013 S with 1990 miles (I've only put 100 miles on it so far)

PS - I'm new here it's my first Pani... what a welcome right?

In Gear?, side stand down? Kill switch?

Sounds more like a safety cut out than an issue...

In gear.... :facepalm: I was in such a hurry this morning and the bike next to me had starter issues as he was leaving so I checked mine and couldn't start it so then I freaked out too.

The 1199 is so beautiful you forget the basics .. Its kinda like when that hot woman goes hey and your like ahh ahhh ahhh.

HAHAHAHA!!!!! We have ALL done that with a motorcycle at some point...

it's ok

the other way around would be worse, can you imagine if you forget to put your kickstand down.
