I ponder the increase in longevity at 120HP setting. Would it be that much more than at 195? Would certain parts wear faster or age more at the low power setting as the Panigale was designed for racing so that 120HP is at the lower design limit of all the components. Your opinions appreciated :)

I wouldn't bang my wife with half my .... and I wouldn't ride my bike with half it's power.
Just my opinion.

Some one around here has a quote about not living and dying.

Stop pondering.

I've pondered several things today - can the Sox take another one away from
the Cards at home, did the Thai food last night paired with the Indian food at lunch have anything to do with my stomach ache, why did Shaq do a commercial endorsing Christie and why did Christie actually want an endorsement from Shaq, etc. The correlation between 120hp and parts longevity on an 1199 was definitely not one of them.

And the game is tied 1-1 so I can't really put any more thought into it. Sorry bro.

I think Shaq is from Jersey

I wonder if I launch the bike in wet mode for a 120hp hard launch, but already have the mode selector on race...When I let off the clutch, press the mode selector button and hold it...about the time it says "close throttle and let off brake" I will hit the DQS...I wonder what will happen...Will the DQS turn off the engine just long enough to make the computer think I let off the throttle so it shifts and goes to race mode ?...

I'm thinking it wont be "off" long enough and will stay in wet mode after the shift. But .......Ghostbusters didnt really know what would happen when they crossed the streams !

I'll attempt to provide a sensible answer.to this rather strange line of thought.
I believe the theory behind it, could never be proven either way.
Too many variables, like the variation in rubbish answers.

I'm sure it's monitoring the throttle position and the DQS wouldn't have any bearing on that. Good try on some ghetto launch control though. :)
