Hi All,

Just wanted to run this by more experienced Ducati riders/owners.

Is it normal for wheel shake when taking off hard in first gear?

Would this be related to tire pressure being to high on the front?

Cheers
Chris

When I accelerated the front handle bars wobbled out of control. Sorry should have explained this a little more clearer. I would have thought the steering damper would have sorted this out.

most likely the front wheel lifting slightly.. as in kinda wheelie... you are probably putting to much pressure on the bars causing the effect and thus making it worse

steering dampeners help with this a lot if they are adjustable
your base dampener really wont tune that out.

I'd check your tire pressure and your suspension settings. There is huge weight transfer towards the rear of the bike when accelerating. Suspension (correct sag and compression adjustments) should handle this appropriately though.

Beyond that - possibly the headstock bearings/ something loose?

The amount of gyro force created from a spinning wheel should create a lot of stability.

its what they do, at least my 1199 does that, its not that bad though

It's doing something right! These symptoms you describe is why we dabble with bikes.....do you really think men wake up and want to take a bird for dinner or want to buy shoes...? Of course not, we want to know at the very least what colour knickers she was wearing, seems your ride is lifting her skirt.....please continue

Treat your handle bar ends like tubes of tooth paste, while riding do not squize any paste out. This helps to stay in control.
And yes, the Pani shakes his head a bit.

I'm definitely not as experienced as most are. The tiny headshake is a feel good moment while power is ripping the asphalt. But in my case when I adjusted the suspensions more properly, it's almost gone

For the guys in Australia.

did anyone see the big tank slapper Mike Jones got into on his 1299 in the ASBK race at PI.

I only saw the highlights the other day. If I had a copy would post it.

Saw that, it was quite impressive but he was having that issue to some degree almost every run down the main straight, he did pretty well for the meet and should've finished higher in the last race except for the block pass from the Yammy in turn 12 I think it was?

I had a beautiful little shake the other day. I was somewhere around 2/3 throttle on a gentle bend at about 20 degrees of lean. Hit a ridged Tarmac join line on England's finest roads, up she popped, nice little shake. Short shifted her down. Made me feel like Chaz Davies for a second. Probably didn't look as good as it felt. Hell at least I felt alive.

I find this to be about correct.

Coming out of a corner hot on the throttle I get a little which is normal.

But not in the straights unless I hit a weird patch of road.
