Okay, I know The bike isn't even released yet but do any of you know who may be the first to release either race fairings or similar?

Apparently my R Will be showing up the first week of May and I'd like to already have the stuff if it's available so the day I get it I can swap the body and head to the track that weekend.

I did a Google search but couldn't find anything. I did speak to somebody at a BMW shop who actually said he knows somebody who is making these wider fairings with the different mounts for the front nose but we parted ways after a business disagreement.

I'm also curious to see who will be the first to release a carbon headlight stay.

Thanks in advance.

will the 1199 trackfairings not for the 2015 1199R ??

The nose won't fit. The 2015's mirrors mount higher up.

For the price of what Sharkskinz charge it makes more sense to just get the ducati performance unpainted kit.

I have the DP kit for my 1199. If I had it to do again I'd go with one of the other brands unless the new DP kit is more like the SBK fairings (no headlight cut out, no tail light cut out). The DP kit is too street focused for "race" bodywork.

Nope mirrors are relocated to the mounting point will be different.

what difference will mounting points of mirrors make to using existing track bodywork.

I don't see why 1199 track bosywork should not just bolt onto the 2015 R

Why buy the ducati performance stuff it won't crash well, better off going with armor bodies or sharkskinz, unless you are running it on the street and need the lights??

i'm still puzzled as to why the nose won't fit it does not look any different.

Obviously I didn't take their durability in a wreck into account so that's my bad.

When I get home from work I'll send you a couple close ups. The nose has holes for where it mounts to the headlight stay. All 2015 those holes are completely different and a few inches away. You'd have no way of mounting your existing fairing without cutting holes in it and then leaving the old mirror mount holes exposed.

The mirrors mount directly to the fairing stay. The 1199 race bodywork uses the mirror mount points to mount to the fairing stay. If the mirror mounts have changed then the 1199 bodywork won't match up.

I think you'll find that the headlight bracket will have changed along with the mounting points. The 2015 1199R & 1299's have the nose extenders already moulded into the nose cone. Very similar to the 2014 SL's. Whereas the 1199 had clip ons to allow you to go a hole 2mph faster.

Ducati being Ducati, will want to make subtle changes and differences.

But it's just race bodywork. Why do you want to keep the mirrors?!

So no, it won't fit perfectly. If you have the mechanical aptitude I'm sure you can make it fit.

Just have to wait till after the release and a specific kit becomes available I'm afraid

the front fairing stay of the 1199 and the 2015 1299/1199R are interchangeable, so you could get a 1199 Race fairing stay and then the 1199 race body work will fit.

Sure. But who in their right mind would pay money for an older model bracket to put a less aerodynamic fairing onto their brand new 2015? Maybe some. Definitely not me.

I'd think for that money you could just buy a new race nose (once available of course).

Just my $.02.

Sure, as I said you could cut and mangle things up, but we're not talking about a $2200 R6... Who is gonna cut and zip tie their 2015 1299/R? Additionally you still can see the older style windshield would have nowhere to mount on the 2015 and vice-versa.

Pictures aside its all supposition until the bikes in my hands :D

Warm weathers right around the corner!

I said mechanical aptitude, not back street dentist! And only if you wanted to get on the track in a hurry.

Personally I would wait for the Ducati unpainted kit as well. I had this for my 2014 R and will do the same for the 2015 R. It came with all the blanks for headlights etc. also. The only thing I can complain about was how heavy the headlight blanks were

............ It didn't do too badly at protecting the bike either!!!

Hi people. I'm preparing an 1199 R for the French Protwin championship, and the fairing sides are the same, so most aftermarket fairings will fit, but the headlight fairing is unique, and you'll need a special mounting kit for the gyroscope which piggy-backs the headlight, otherwise none of your electronics will work, and don't fit the fairing without making up a jig which holds the bike in EXACTLY the same position as the standard sidestand, which is what the gyroscope uses to give the baseline set-up.
You'll also need your dealer to help set up the gyro if you remove it and don't refit it in exactly the same position.
Also, don't shunt the clutch lever switch. Shifter doesn't work, and bike cuts out at 9000 rpm.
:)
If you DO want to fit an earlier fairing, you'll need to change the headlight support, or go with a Motoholders type support, and fabricate the gyro support.
I haven't found anyone making a direct replacement yet.
