My 1299 was up on the lift. I started looking at the upper and lower radiators. The lower radiator is in direct fire of rubber balls coming off the front tire and any debris that might come up. I had several bugs already smashed in the fins. So, here is my question: What radiator guards do you guys use? I've learned to ask you guys questions before I rely on a web site and buy something some of you may have already experienced, good or bad. All comments welcome. Thank you.

Evotech upper and lower guards are the way ahead, easy to fit, good protection & will last. R&G also make guards but a lot more involved to fit.

I read the instructions to the Cox guards and it by far looks to be the most problematic and difficult

Edit: the DP lower guard is easy to fit, I might just get that for ease and throw it on when I do the canister delete

Evotech guards are easy as hell to install.. Is there a difference in the 1199 and 1299 radiators? If not the Evotech 1199 guards will fit your 1299..

Warp Speed. Whether they have 1299 ones yet will be the question.

I just installed the Evotech today for my 1199S and I gotta say it was super easy to do. Took less then 10 mins for both upper and lower.

I don't think there is any difference, I ordered new guards for the 1299, they are the same as I had on the 1199. Evotech have changed the design slightly for the lower guard now so it mounts on the 2 side bolts but I don't think there are any compatibility issues.

R&G also changed the fixing, it's the same now as with Evotech. Designwise, I prefer them over Evotech.

Sensible decision :)

Evotech just redesigned their lower kit due to oil leaks on the 899. The new model mounts are on the sides as opposed to the top.

I have the new R&G outside mounting guards and the fitment is ugly.

Warp Speed appear like a nice kit, but I am not sure of the availability in the US.

after my first ride I saw the radiator was going to need some protection.

I went with the dp one because of convenience and it seemed reasonable at around $80

if you order the ducati lower radiator guard the bolts come in black I know mine are silver I just do not care about the looks I was just freaking out about the rocks hitting my radiator

I ordered upper and lower EvoTech from ProItalia. Total was roughly $150. I almost choked when I saw the MotoCorse prices. For both pieces it would've been $500. I appreciate everyone's advice!!!!

This is the one I have ordered as well. It's cheap and installation is easy.

Do what I did on my Jeep - buy black plastic gutter leaf guards and cable tie them on :D

I have Cox Raxing guards and love them. The quality of the product is exceptional as well as the customer service. I agree that they are more labor intensive but I beleive they were working on a new version to make the install easier. I'll have to check with Mr. Cox on the new design, availability and fitment for the 1299.
