Hello, has anyone made the 1299 reverse shift without the Ducati wiring kit? Warhorse just told me the kit is no longer available and I really don't want to track the bike in standard shift as I have become acclimated to reverse shift at this point.

You could buy the connectors and make one yourself. I've used motorcycleconnectors.com and bought them loose and with pigtails with no issues.

you mean disassemble it at the shifter? I didnt try but that would be less fiddly. The main thing is that if youre using the stock rearsets there isnt much room so you have to file the shift knuckle slightly to make it all fit. The 1299 greatly benefits from the racetorx shifter support. TBH the better way to do this is get a set of DP rearsets (I have a near brand new set on a shelf!) and flip the pedal end then you dont need to change wiring, they are easier to adjust and just better all round. To be fair, I like the standard ones but they wear out the knurling so become slippery, the linkages get sloppy and dont crash well but they are light and with so many people swapping them for aftermarket you can pick up sets for peanuts and burn through them as required.

No, ( rough explanation ) you could pull the two pins out of the connector, swap them and reinstall them. It might take a special tool to release the pins.

How is it that the DP rear sets don't require the wiring to be reversed? Isn't the shifter being pushed in the opposite direction no matter what? I thought that's why the wiring needs to be reversed with the "kit wire". How do you remove the wires from the connector to reverse them without damaging the wire or connector?

The shift sensor has three wires, +5v, -5v, and ground. The jumper is rolling the -5v & +5v wires so the computer does what it needs to do, blip on down shifts and fart on upshifts. You could just swap them at the connector is what I'm saying.

They swap the position on the pedal end 180 degrees, so the same foot movement produces the opposite action on the shift knuckle end
