The FE is the same as a 1299 I would imagine, fiddly but pretty easy. you need to remove the side fairings first. Take your time
 
Yeah pop off the side panels, mirrors, air runners and there will be two 5mm bolts that hold the cowl onto the headlight once those are off pull forward gently.
