Hey all,

I have a Monster 1200. Love the bike, but looking for more.

I'm a pretty big guy (125 kilos, 181 cm). I've sat on the 1299 a few times. It feels pretty good. I just am a bit worried about what it might be like on longer rides. I don't care too much about the people who say "man look at that fat dude on the Panigale". It's all baby fat anyways :)

Any other larger fellas here riding one?

Appreciate any info!

Sir, I'm 305lbs, 5'11 and am a proud 1299 rider! It powers me up in 2nd at 6k rpm so there is more than enough power in the bike for us bigger fellas! I smash through the canyons with ease, and I still look good lol

Well, the first thing you're going to notice is probably your wrists getting sore after riding an hour or so. If you take longer rides often enough, you should get conditioned to where it won't bother you as much anymore.

Another LARGER THAN LIFE person here, I find my 1199 more than capable of being fun and comfy, but like mentioned the clip-ons have an interesting angle to them. I look to swap my clip-ons for something easier on the wrists this winter.
45-60 minutes of highway riding is my limit.
On the backroads where you are moving around an hour is no problem.

Thanks all!

Any of you guys using these bikes as a commuter to work?

Have used mine on nicer days 60 miles one way, mostly highway.... if you get stuck in traffic, like bumper to bumper, you might regret riding in. I can deal with the hot exahust, but the clutch wears the hell out of my wrist, and the low end fueling is typical Ducati. JUNK

My bike is my everyday all purpose machine... My car is for the wife and kids, and family trips, only because I haven't found a way to get us all on the panigale but still working on it. Bought my bike early August, and already have over 4K mi on it! My commute is pretty short but none the less I ride it day in day out any and everywhere I have to go. You do have to know a good spot to be in to save your wrist some pain, but it only took a few days to figure that part out. And it's usually slower riding that does it, but I can sit on it all damn day lol

I've got a couple of inches in height on you but the same weight, I've been on the bike for coming up to two years now and don't have any issues, if you are going to do some touring I would recommend the Tuneboy cruise control, takes a lot of pressure off the wrists. You should do it, you won't regret buying a Panigale, best bike I have ever ridden and brings the biggest grin.

Cheers
JT
