1299s rattle (2015)

Hi

My 1299 is doing some rattle or friction sounds at a specific rpm range.
For those who know, it sounds like a car water pump that doesnt work well.

Help?

Oh waw!! That’s crazy.
I don’t have the skills to unmount the cover and expose what you show on the pictures.
I took a photo and a video. The video doesn’t record the high pitch sound that I get driving at 3rd gear between 4000/5000 rpm and I don’t get that sound while revving the bike stationary.

I never heard a thing prior to my failure around 25k miles. Perhaps some other here can chime in on possible cause. I wish you the best partner
 
What happened? How did you noticed it ?

That hole in the right case cover, buddy. Oil was spewing out and then flashing to smoke on the exhaust. Once that metal sprocket broke as pictured, it was extremely loud. But I never heard any warning signs leading up to this. Although I do have a full system, so the bike is very loud and I ride with, extreme ear protection

Was loudness the only thing you noticed?
Mine has also a full titanium Akra line and it sounds very loud only when I drive it, stationary the sound level is ok.
 
Very odd my man. Yes no other symptoms for me. Just never heard a thing until that small metal sprocket made a hole in case. Have a mech at Ducati shop listen??

Yes I’m thinking of doing that.

I unmounted the right side fairing and had a look around, nothing abnormal.
The only thing I noticed is a leak in the right side of the pipe. If it’s coolant, couldn’t it be coming from the coolant exchanger (see picture where it’s highlighted)?
