Hi all!

New member here!
Had my 1299s for just over a week (came from an 1198), 1st service done yesterday. Took it to my local track (Cadwell Park in the UK) last night for its first track session. It performed fantastic! Fixed suspension, ebc2 and everything else on 1.
Great constant laps and gentle traction intervention on full power corner exits.
But I seem to suffering with is a very pronounced hesitation around 5-6k rpm!
It also feels quite snatchy like a slight disconnect or delay in response to my throttle input!?
Is this a sticky exhaust valve?

Welcome, yup it's normal. Dip in the torq curve at that point. Tuneboy would help you smooth it out. Do some reading on here. Lots of good stuff posted.

What?
Even the 1299 has a dip ? I thought they eradicated this issue from the 1199 ?

Not as bad as on the 1199 but it's still there. It's like scrapper described I think, the power comes on in 3 waves if you really pay attention to it. If that makes any sense.

Agree-
It's definitely still there just to a lesser degree..
Just gotta rev the whore and keep it above 6 k:D
Figured that out back in fall of 2012 when I got my 1199..

It's really bad, when I get on the gas out of say a hairpin it sort of almost coughs/hesitates as though have shut off for a split second then given it WOT again!
I'm looking at getting the new front exit termi at some point.
Has anyone got good results with this can? Assume the only up map is with tune boy? I've not heard of them before so need to read up, thanks.
When wheelying it (I like big wheelies! lol) although I'm still dialling myself into the bike it's difficult to modulate the rate of climb and balance point going up through the gears. It's better when into 4th & 5th etc but not ideal.
Will look into throttle free play too.

Apart from that, the 1299 is epic! It revs out in top gear like my old 1198 did in 4th! :D

Have your dealer check your exhaust valve it may be sticking , lock wire it open if sticking , problem sorted .

Thank the heavens I don't have this issue anymore on my 1199 after i installed the rapidbike race module

You should have bought last years 1199R so much better :D

.......or maybe you could sticker it up like one ;)

Might be able to see any binding or other issues with flapper valve by turning on ignition and watching it cycle. The part on the exhaust should show some abnormality if that valve or the movement assembly has an issue.

It's not showing any errors, appears to cycle when turned on (wiring sound) no way of telling that valve is opening/closing though.

Looking at the front exit Termi slip ons, if they come with the y pipe to delete the valved section and some bolt in db killers I'm in!
Hoping Termi will release an up map soon? If not can you tune the stock mapping on a dyno or is an aftermarket tuning box (like tune boy/power commander etc) required?!

Don't know who or if the ECU is cracked yet, but easy solution would be RapidBike or TuneBoy.

Personally I'm leaning towards to the RapidBike. More than enough for guys like me who are casual track attendees that like canyons and twisties.
