To "melvinakshay" & "Mutt1979" The two replies after mine..................

I know you are not ....... talking about ME, right??!!!!

... That is why SBK currently runs <1200 v twin or <1000 fours. Has always been like that, back in the day the 998 ducati competed in 750 when SBK was still 750's.
...

For the record: the 999 did beat up the 1000cc 4-cylinders.

You'll get more ..... from owning a Panigale than you will by riding a Neon Green ZX-10 or similar. End of story.

i beg to differ green gets the most puC no matter what. Not talking about a kawi either:D

also you still need some game my buddy couldnt pick up a girl if she fell and he has a ducati.

What a thread!

Dude, don't think twice about the GSXR beating you brother. Those inlines are definetly FAST and look at the new R1 so unreal right outta the box too! The Japanese Companies have ALL stepped up their game in an all out Hp war w each other, something Ducati has not really concerned themselves with as much as they do man. It's not embarrassing unless you let it be brother. So let it go. You still have a bike that stops people walking by it and creates both men and women to get turned on! Lol. Safe to say it's the best LOOKING bike of the class. - but yes looks are not EVRYTHING I KNOW. :(

To: /rrgerman - I personally would never slam any member here for coming right out with comments similar (or worse ) than what you said my man. Unfortunately, I do agree with you on a number of issues you've said too. Fortunately though, I've never ran into any real issues with the 6 different bikes I've had the pleasure of owning and racing too. When I was a Service Director at a Ducati Dealer I had many arguments w their Regional Service Reps about warranty work taking way too long, and waiting on parts from friggin Italy too! In no way should someone who pays for such a bike like these be forced to wait unrealistic times for parts from another country, or unexplained issues w things. They really should have created some sort of "Loaner Bike Program" to allow owners to use the same bike- or even a better one- while waiting on theirs to be properly fixed. IMHO this would show some SERIOUS Customer Service while even giving owners to try different bikes they may even decide to trade up to or buy instead ya know? (Just me blowing smoke here w ideas that are too unrealistic to happen)

You are definetly due your negative opinion after having a bad experience w yours man. It's just a culture in itself I guess you could say owning these bikes. One I haven't been able to shake for like 20 years. I always wanted something "Different" to be proud of owning and for the most part lived that life for many years! I now have a 2012 1199s Triccolore with more mods on it than one could think of! No more room for more - but it hasn't been ridden in 2 friggin years and sits under a Ducati cover attached to an Optimate 4 so the battery will never die. Love to sell it to someone wanting a totally tricked out Tri that looks much different than any other, but won't take it in the arse just to let it go. Call me selfish, stupid or unrealistic on what I'd want for it, but that's just the way I am. :(

Don't ask me how I even got on this topic here and went so far off course guys. Those of you who know me understand why. Totally lost my train of thought so on that note I'll say good night and wish you all well. ;)

Gunny Out ..........,,,,

i agree to some extent. hp wars are good the inlines are doing an amazing job.
on the other hand i think this is the end of the road for 2 cylinders ducati doesnt get involved because i dont think they really can. i think ducati has the engine maxed. something has to change.

I would agree; they'll either need to increase displacement, again, or start thinking about adding cylinders. To keep adding displacement is ridiculous; 1500cc, 1800cc, whatever they want, is the easy way out and doesn't serve the brand long-term. They'll need to decide which heritage is more important - racing heritage or twin heritage.

The Japanese factories continually manage to produce more HP from the same formula - 1000cc and 4 cylinders. I don't think the Japanese engineers are that much better than the Italian guys (look at the engine on the GP bike) I think the twin formula is tapped out. Let the other platforms carry the twin tradition if need be. The superbike should be about best performance.

perfect recommendation. diaval monster even the smaller 959. superbike 4 cylinders. If you want to keep it somewhat close go v4

Would be a killer 90th Anniverary Edition addition to the line up...

Only once in my life did I do a Track Day at Cresson. Found it to be a nicely laid out course, but being my first time there, and borrowing a 998 from a friend, I was VERY careful that day and rode like a ..... for sure!

The cool part was that Larry Pegram was the VIP Host and everyone got to hang out w him and also ride around w him showing the lines and all too. AMS throws a nice Track Day for sure and also with the help of Jordan Rhodes is kind enough to set up your suspension for everyone.

Thought Id toss in some memorable pics from that day and hope no one minds on this here? One of the Control Riders / AMS Coaches was super cool (Forget his name) but took video of anyone who wanted it so he could show you where you were off line or could improve at Cresson.
One thing to note though - If bringing anyone w you to watch, the track is awful for spectators period! No where to actually sit and watch / video or take pics with the layout of this place. :(

That's Marty Scribner (Sales Manager AMS Ducati Dallas) and of course Jeff Nash (Owner AMS Ducati Dallas)... I believe they both run in the teens at Cresson on a Panigale's. Both stupid fast. Jeff is an ex champion so that's to be expected!

I sure hope so; a Ducati V4 is something I would DEFINITELY buy...

Seem like more talks about it again. They are those will not believe it and will stay V twins.

Remember while back when they asked Ducati? But it has been some times now. Looks like more talks of V4 because of future WSBK and new line up is due soon.

Spot On!

That is absolutely correct my man!
Have known them both for quite a few years, and due to having the old classic 944 machine, Jeff was very drawn to it and did all the suspension settings himself, along w many other things too. Marty and I also were pretty tight and he worked up numbers for me several times on a White 1198s- but unfortunately they could never come close to what my old pal David of Redline could do for me.

Anyway, what I was getting at is YES SIR - Jeff Nash was a smokin old school Ducati racer and after some conversation it turns out that I was actually there at VIR the day he had a "Wicked Bad" crash which resulted in a Helo ride out of there due to the severity of it. (Tried to find the best article about that crash and its severity but can't seem to do so) Everyone loves the Aussie accents - despite his home of record being New Zealand.

Bottom line is that I totally respect and endorse AMS and their Staff and would love to pay them a visit again- I used to live in in Tulsa, OK when I was a regular client of theirs years ago, but now live in NOVA (Virginia) and don't have that proximity anymore. ANYONE near Dallas (even a days drive- is HIGHLY encouraged to visit them, buy from them, and for sure - use them for anything Service Related!! GREAT Techs there hands down!!

Thats it. Gunny out...........................

***WHAT A DUMB ... I AM- POSTED THESE PICS ON PAGE #2. DUH!!

I just got my ... absolutely handed to me by a Gixxer doing a few street races.

1. "Street race" was on an empty toll road.
2. He pulled away EVERY GD time.. right from the start. We started at about 70mph. I was in 2nd.. redline, shift, redline, shift..

Anyone else do some head to head? How does your Duc fair? I was forced to ride my snobby man's bike down losers row tonight, and I'm pissed! lol

Any for head to heads? The only engine upgrade I have are the Termi carbon slips.

I'm hitting the track this weekend... hopefully to not go cry home to mummy again. ....... gixxers!

must have some other mods he isnt letting on about. I've went up against my friends s1000RR, with slip on and re-map and the 1299s pulls away each time and in each gear quiet significantly

Yes.. turns out he had a turbo in it.

I dominated my boss's Tesla last week, so I've recovered a little dignity!..

Actually, if it was a P90D Model S, it is farrrr from slow. 0-60 in like 2.8 seconds which is stupid fast for an all electric car that is also heavy as hell. That car is quicker than a lot of supercars out there from takeoff and even sportbikes. It just doesn't have the mid n top end grunt to be competitive but then again, that's not what it's built for. Still a bad ... electric car.

I had a Tesla for a few weeks. Caught a TON of people out. Made quite a few passengers sick. Those things are oddly hilarious to drive. But the owners definitely have no clue what's in store for them if they line up next to a bike for more than a couple hundred feet.
