I probably could find this info by searching but I'm on my IPhone and its hard to read this site from it. I'm a coach for TPM and at times use my Pani fror coaching, and also loan it to other coaches. It's time for tires. We have been using and loving Diablo Rossa Corsas (DRC) for coaching tires. They stick well, last well and don't require warmers. Some guys have done very low 1:30s at thunderbolt with them so they will perform. Unfortunately they aren't importing a 200 rear to the states. I am mounting up 190/55 and 120/70. They are 14 mm shorter in rear so I will raise rear 7mm.
My questions. First, how dramatically will this effect traction control?. Please, I know technically it is a no-no, I understand how the system works. I'd like to know if anyone has any real world experience with tire diameter changes? The original f/r diameter difference was 52 mm and will be 42 with DRCs.
Any setup changes that would help would be greatly appreciated, especially from Jarel and other shops and riders out there tweaking these things.
Btw, if you get the opportunity to come ride NYST with TPM or nyst member days, look me up and we'll ride. It is an amazing track

Hoping to make it up there with NESBA. Have heard great things about NYST.

Thanks! Good read. Forgot to subscribe and only saw your post after I came on to update. I rode the bike coaching 45 minutes an hour on 190/55 Diablo Rossa Corsa (DRC) for a day and a half this weekend at NYST, and an AMA pro did a session on it. I adjusted the rear up 9mm to correct ride height for new tires. Yes, the traction control was more intrusive. Initially I allowed it to get used to the new combo, then turned it to 1, and it performed pretty good. While I lost some overall straight line traction due to the narrower tire, the tip in was amazing! The side grip was much better too. Understand that these tire comparisons are typically biased toward the street and even the track testing is performed by what we would classify as novices or at best intermediate riders, look at the lap times! Talk to an honest Pirelli vendor. The DRC is a far better track tire that the SC SP tire that comes on the bike. The DRC is built to be a track tire that will work on the street. Sticks well, needs no warmers and holds up well. Now I just hope they import the 200 soon!!

BTW, the rear shock (standard), for a lack of a better word, BLOWS! My 03 R6 with a very tired Penske swallows the mid corner bumps much better than this piece of crap! I'll have to work on this, revalve? Spring rate? Hate buying new, I'm friggin' cheap!!

I'll probably follow your lead on the DRCs. I ride with TPM at NCBIKE. What's TPM charging trackside for a set?

Geez, I don't honestly know! You can look on Teampromotion.com or email [email protected].
I liked them a lot. To set this up simply, get a tape measure that has mm. Directly above rear axle at the outside edge of the tail fairing, put a big piece of masking tape. Hook the tape inside the axle and with a pen mark the tape at an easy measurement. Now crack loose the 1 1/8 locknut on the front of the shock and adjust the other but to race rear at the mark 9mm. That is the needed adjustment for the combined difference in the set of tires, both type and size. It felt good!
