Hello everyone,
I am very new to riding and i am in love with the ducati panigales. I recently found a amazing deal on a 2012 ducati 1199. My only problem with it is that it has 30100 KM (kilometers not miles but about 18700 miles). It is being sold by a ducati dealership. Should I worry about anything? My concern is that it will start to have major issues and be very costly as the bike is only being sold for 9000 CAD about 6400 usd.

new to riding? 1199 will kill u or scare you and ruin the experience. Maybe if ur gonna ride it around In wet mode for a while it’ll be ok... on the other hand it’ll ruin any other motorcycle for you because nothing comes close. It’s like starting out in a Ferrari with learners permit

get an insurance quote b4 u write the check

Ducati ownership is a lot more expensive in real life than when it’s just a dream

I am not saying that i am starting on a ducati 1199. I know that it will be a stupid idea. i am currently riding a 2018 yamaha r3. I just happened to come across this bike that i believe is a great deal. I might purchase it so that i can work myself into it in the future when i am ready. Can't let a good opportunity pass. But like i was asking, will the bike likely run into any major problems with 30,000km? Will it be more expensive to own this bike than to buy it?

Ok ok cool

I think u should buy it. Yeah it might need some parts thrown at it but as long as maintenance is completed at the proper intervals

Buy it and enjoy it then trade it in for the 2026 Ducati Anniversario Panigale V4 Turbo S

Have you considered an 899 or 959 with a lower amount of km. There’s probably a reason they have such a low price on that bike and it might cost you a lot more in time.

r u thrilled with ur 1299?

Love it, my Tuneboy came in a couple days ago so I'm gonna flash the ecu this weekend then planning a longer trip in the next month or two. I'm interested to see how it goes with 8+ hour days riding and with the software updates as well.

knew u would.

Is it too loud for u now with the full Ti exhaust?

Check out this beautiful forged Carbon Fiber. I think I’ve fallen in love with CF all over again. In matte it looks like 3D camo from more advanced civilization.

It’s not quiet, I’ll definitely be using earplugs now. Lucky I’m not in town and don’t have any neighbours to irritate.

Yeh I agree haha. Would love some cf wheels eventually but I’ll sacrifice those and any more carbon to get another bike at some stage I think

get a new bike when you become bored with this one. i don’t think I’ll ever get bored with my 1299, but the trick is getting rid of it b4 the engine fails

I really would love to see an updated 1299: Big V Twin, 2020 bodywork

I think I prefer the gloss look for this stuff. It’s intoxicating

I thought I wanted CF wheels but idk they’d probably be cracking all the time.
I would go as far to say, for me, spending all that doh on CF rims is strictly cosmetic, I doubt I could feel the difference in weight, although my Ducati service writer says the cf wheels turned his v4 into a monster on the track, and I trust him

Forged spokes, woven rim. Ceramic bearings

Please avoid 30k km Panigale) I would suggest to try finding one with less mileage

I hope you bought it. That’s a killer deal and I’m sure you could work out a deal with the dealer on the 15k service if you bought it.
