Hello folks, I purchased a 2013 1199 base and I really want to install the S LED headlights on the bike. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and if so what does it consist of and how much does it cost?:confused: Thank you for your time.

check out this link below

Wiring harness $1301.99
Light unit itself $1726.99
6 hours of labor $570 @$95/hr

Thank you for the info. Well I think I will attempt this intricate conversion. Wish me luck. I already purchased the "S" LED Headlight so I got the big part out of the way, LOL. Next I have to find the harness. Know anyone that can provide a good deal for the harness? Thanks again.

search the thread "parting out vs. living room display"
he sold components of his S. maybe he still has the harness...

good luck!

Im confused, why didnt you just pay the extra 4-k for the S then? Seems silly to me and a waste of money, you woulda got a lot more for your money with the S model....

I was misinformed before I purchased the bike. I was under the impressions that it only would cost me $1,000 to do the conversion.:(

So, I am progressing along in conversion. I have the "S" headlight Which I ended up purchasing for $650 and the Airbox cover which was about $30. I also did some heavy research and saw that you do NOT need the wire harness in order for this to work. All you need is the connectors to the headlight. Keep in mind that the base also has LED taillights so the base is all ready conceived with needed resistors for the LED's to work. I should have this completed sometime next week. I will keep everyone posted on the status. ;-)

Tell me about it! I was misinformed that this was supposed to be a reliable motorcycle! ! :D

Mechanically its reliable so far....electrically...I have issues with my horn, signal light and trip meter malfunctioning....DASH needs to be replaced...Updated dash is on its way!

Thought by Ducati switching to Mitsubishi Electrics from Japan, would solve the electrical gremlins Magneti Marelli had. Oh well, hope the dash replacement service ends it all.

Bike is reliable so far...except for that abovementioned issues I have. 1199 Panigale is an awesome bike...best I've ever owned.

Just so they don't switch to Lucas, we should be good :)

That sucks, I hope it works fine when you get it fixed. Lets just hope it was the one in a million case!

Cool man. Be interesting to see if you can get it working & what parts it took to get the LED headlights on the base.

any luck on the conversion?

Conversion went pretty smooth, all you need is a headlight, a plastic airbox cover which is about $30 from the dealer, a couple of connectors, and led resistors. It mounts fine and turns on normally the only thing is that after about 20 seconds it will shut off then come back on again, that's where the led resistors come into play. It's not a easy job to tackle, it's a little time consuming but very do-able. I should have mine done tomorrow, they are closed today so I cannot pick it up, once I get it back I will post some pictures. :)

I want to thank Ducati Forza (Atlantic Motorcycles) for making this conversion possible, I just picked up the bike and it looks wicked. I will be posting picks probably sometime Sunday, I have a tough mudder event tomorrow morning so I will be a little busy till then. I was only charged 3.5 hours of labor for the job, which from my point of view is very fair considering the amount of work that was put into doing this conversion. Great job, awesome staff, and amazing outcome thanks to Atlantic Motorcycles of Pompano. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.
