Any guesses on what the SP will have above/beyond the other models?

Maybe this will just be the Tricolore version without the Tricolore fairings?
I can not think of anything else that the Tricolore doesn't have that they could put on the bike.

and wait another year and pay another 20K.

If they make one

waiting is not a problem, as i still have the Base to play with
id be lucky if it it is another 20k, i think more like 30k on top of the trade-in

They always make an R version the second year of a new production run....since there isnt one for 2013....doubt they will make one....id put money on it too

An SP version in only the second model year of a brand new platform? Doesn't sound right to me, I think for 2013 they will just offer new color options for the base and S, maybe discontinue the Tricolore. Maybe Matte Black and White

i cant remember but can sumone refresh my memory.

what were the difference in 1198 S vs 1198 SP

all i remember was quick shifter

what are people thoughts would be different on the S vs SP for the panigale

Upgraded Ohlins to TTX
Quick Shifter
Aluminum Tank (larger capacity and doesn't leak!)
DP Slipper Clutch

...and all for same price as "S" from prior model year.

So let's try to imagine an SP or R, what options it could possibly have.

All I can think of, is a red version of the Tri, and call that the SP. Then drop the Tri as 1198freak suggested. Besides fitting all the DP goodies, it's pretty perfect as is.

White is the colour I'm waiting to get. Hopefully that comes out next year

I can't imagine what they'd add to make me want more than my Tri. Hell, I hope they discontinue the Tri, helps my resale lol.

Maybe more carbon fiber everywhere, but more likely probably on a "R" model.

Titanium internal engine parts, Titanium Full system with a revised radiator fan so it fits, more Carbon body work......I could think of endless things they could do:D

i dont userly follow the new models that come alone.

but when will they announce the new models?

will it be in milan motorcycle show?

I could see them doing cams, pistons, ti rods. They have also done sand casted cases and heads in the past, the first 1098R's (Bayliss did not have the heads, just cases) and the Desmosedici. Maaybe carbon tail section and farings/belly pan. They'll call it an SP as they did in the 80's-90"s instead of an R. We keep hearing they are not going to do an R and they would be true to their word then, it's an SP. Whatever it is if it happens, it will be awesome I'm sure!!!
