So my lying piece of .... ex girlfriend has been gone about 6 months now which is great but she abandoned our dogs and cats which are a lot of work for just one person. I have less and less time to ride and i find myself tip toeing through life knowing that even a minor injury as far as injuries are concerned could threaten my ability to function. I have too many lives depending on me to be taking any risks right now so its with a heavy heart that I think im going to be giving up riding indefinitely.
on to the bike....2014 Ducati 1199R. Just over 2500 miles. not a scratch anywhere but ill start with the bad...
The Bad: the left hand side of the tail light doesnt light up. Brakes illuminate the tail light as they should but only one side is gently lit up when the bike is on. No idea what would cause it nor did I care to rip apart the tail to figure it out.
Now for the good. I think this is one of the single most beautifully set up bikes on the planet. For those who wanna cry about it not being a true R, thats fine thats why you can go buy the R for a lot more money which is a lot less rideable for most people than this bike is....so....the mods...im sure ill forget some as well
full termi system with race ECU (obviously)
BST carbon fiber wheels
Sicom Carbon Rotors front and back
Custom Painted Shift tech tail, side fairings, and subframe covers
Ducabike see thriough clutch cover
Rizoma Rear Sets
Shorai light weight battery
Rizoma Reverse Retro Mirrors
I did a sick job wiring front signals to sit right above the headlight (see pic)
Diablo Supercorsa tires with plenty of tread
speedymoto front axle sliders
CRG carbon fiber shorty levers
Stomp Grips on tank
Light tech gas cap
clear bra where it matters
Bike has never spent an hour outside, always garaged. Currently garaged in downtown manhattan NYC. I can show it just about any time for anyone local. I see a 2014 1199R with same miles and zero mods that just sold on ebay in TX for 21,500. Im asking 25k but im happy to listen to offers...id say the longer it sits the more flexible i would be but I think 25K is pretty reasonable for the bike as it stands. Any feedback on that number is greatly appreciated even from non interested parties. I dont need the money, but its stupid to pay for insurance and parking on a bike that I dont really have time to ride and even if I did to be taking risks i cant really afford to take.
