Thanks to all of you for your great responses, I really appreciate it when people that know, take the time to make thoughtful comments.
I think $15,000 is too high, $13,000 is a bit low ball which is not my style to try and steal a bike, so I've decided to split the difference and offer $14,000 depending upon condition of the machine when I see it in person on Friday morning. I'll let you guys know how this all turns out including lots of pics of the bike, I'm hoping to trailer home a 1299!
