I bought a 2017 SuperSport on Friday. It's my first bike.
On Saturday, while riding (in normal conditions), the engine started to lose power. The check engine light came on, and then the bike stalled. It struggled to start afterwards. I let it tick cool for several minutes, and managed to start it again. I managed to ride another 5km to bring me closer to home, and it stalled twice while riding in traffic (I didn't touch the clutch; it just stalled while riding). I only just managed to pull it into a petrol station. After that, it didn't want to start.
I made a video of the bike trying to start. I thought it might be useful to help get a diagnosis. I showed the video to a mechanic at my local dealership this morning, and he frowned and said it looks like an electrical problem, and that he'll probably need to take the bike apart, and that maybe it's a bad map sensor (?). They won't be able to properly look at it until May 15th, so assuming they need to order some parts, I'm probably not going to be on the bike for at least another month.
It's a pretty painful start to riding for me. I'm now trying to assess what other options I might have. I'll share the same video here. Maybe the collective wisdom of the forum has a better idea of what the problem could be?
First video it does start. Second video shows how it later gave up entirely.
