reading the manual and very confused.
how do i adjust the preload?
is fully open (clockwise) the least preload amount of preload or most amount of preload?

Ok, I did a little googling and found an answer. It looks like that is the standard translated text the Italians use for the "fork adjustment" in all their owner manuals. Or it could be a typo. Just think of it as a standard preload adjuster: full clockwise is max preload or a stiffer spring, full counter clockwise is min preload.

Without wishing to be a pedant, preload won't give you a 'stiffer spring', it doesn't effect spring rate.

Good point, if a constant rate spring takes say 15kg/mm to move, its does not care where in the stroke that is. Preload of 30kgon that spring means that you have to apply 45kg to make it move 1mm. As discussed in the other thread about braking stability, adjusting the air gap gives the same effect as increasing spring rate but only at the bottom of the stroke, but adding excessive preload will only make the suspension harsh.
