Can anyone with a 2022 verify that the air duct to the gear position sensor and quickshifter has changed? I came across this on Reddit.

The original poster in the thread said the exhaust gaskets on the 2022 were a different length and his SC Project slip-on didn't fit, but he had read Termi and Arrow slip-ons do, which didn't make a lot of sense. The flange coming off of the header is visually different for sure, but I don't know how the other slip-ons work but the SC doesn't.

Air duct to the what? I’m sure the 23 model will have air conditioning and a massage seat.

where is the duct in this pic?

Its this thing on top of the QS.

It looks like it would match up with part 30 here.

But, the diagram which shows the QS doesn't like the duct on top of the QS. Also intresting is that all of the heat shielding of the QS is removed. My 2021 has a plastic assembly which is wrapped in heat insulation.

There's another difference with the lower farings on the 2022 bikes, and its all the vent/drain hoses. They all link to an assembly at the base of the oil cooler. I think it would be really easy to plug the output of it to turn it into a catch can.

This makes sense as you don't want any insulation to impede or mitigate the cooling effect of the flow of air. By design it'll have a positive effect while moving but at a standstill that might work against it... or possibly not negatively enough to cause problems?

FWIW the SF also has no insulation around the QS but the lack of fairings is probably the reason.

For sure the lack of fairings helps. I'd argue the wide body fairings made things worse for the QS and gear position sensor.

Yes, there's a new duct to the gear position sensor, which is more cohesively integrated into the lower fairing too.
It does seem to obstruct airflow to the quickshifter now.
I've got about 700 miles on my 22 bike now, and have had a few upshifts where the QS hasn't worked. Will probably swap it out to verify.

It looks like it’s about the QS and doesn’t direct any air on it. So maybe just improved airflow for the gear sensor.

At only 700 miles I wonder if it’s more of a break in type of thing.
