It is correct but you have not read it correctly.

500 is the correct number.

“The minimum production numbers of the model intended to be raced (in the relevant World Championship) are:

Superbike and Superstock 1000/1100 Categories:

- 125 units of the motorcycle on the date of the homologation visit.
- A total of 250 units on the 31st December of the intended first racing year.
- A total of 500 units on the 31st December of the following year.”

No. You looked at the wrong category.

Supersport 300 and World Supersport Next Generation categories require 1000 units. Superbike requires just 500.

As I was - thanks for setting me straight fellas. 👊

I think Ducati just about managed to meet their requirement... 🤣

It made me laugh that they delayed announcing the new bike with the increase from 40,000 Euros to 44,000 Euros until the day the FIM announced the increase in the maximum retail price from 40,000 Euros to 44,000 Euros. 🫣

They probably made more than the demand. The bike can now be had (immediate availability) for a bit less than this - I initially had an order for V4S, but with the rebate it was *very* close and i switched to an R.

Under 40,000 Euros might make a switch from the SP2 tempting. There’s a lot to be said for the V4 of course.

What is this "rebate" you speak of?

SP2 wasn’t available at all from the factory (although it was in the configurator). V4 was quoted by the factory as 3-6 months wait. The rebate + that I am stupidly an instant gratification person with no sense of financial responsibility lead to an R :)

Speak to your dealer - I am in EU so it might be different than over where you are. Just as a ballpark - the bike was under 40k euro and the exhaust was under 7k euro (this is with 20% vat)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that dealers get a rebate at certain times and maybe some dealers are willing to pass that onto the buyer to make a sale. I have a feeling based on prior conversations that my dealer here wouldn’t be willing to budge on retail price.

Under 40,000 Euros makes it a bit more tempting.

I meant that I have a SP2 and the R being that price could make a change tempting.

If they are already in the #12xx s, that 4k euro difference per unit adds up to 5 million. I guess daddy Audi is happy they waited ;)

The 30th Anniversario is more than just a numbered bike, more than an SP2, or the last single sided swing arm Ducati V4 SBK. It's all these points and many more. You have to be a Ducatista enthusiast that appreciates Ducati Pedigree. Sounds snobby I know but once you ride a Duc and learn what Ducati means to performance. Then you'll understand why Ducatistas spend the money to own such machines. Nothing like it. Ducatis save soul and LE Ducs have "unique souls".
