Hey Boys,

I've picked up my bike last week and have purchased a DIY Clear Car/Bike Bra from OziShield.

I have to say Terrence is very passionate about the product and spends a lot of time explaining the DIY process. He has been the distributor for 3M in Ringwood, Melbourne for a number of years and also cuts the product with his further design specs. Absolutely great bloke to deal with.

If you guys are interested, have a look at his website - OziShield Paint Protection Film Home Page

I'll be installing mine this weekend but for other forum members if you are unsure if you want to protect your bike, you can call Terrence to explain the process.

BTW, I didn't get any discounts from him but just wanted to report back a good product and an owner who just wants the best for other peoples bikes & cars.

Cheers,
Raymond

Hey man, let us know how hard it was. I need to have mine done while the paint is still unblemished.

I regret not doing this, the paint is pretty soft and I have little chips on the front from all the riding lol.

I had mine done with venture shield, you cant't see it but it really does protect the paint work. AC

i have the xpel ultimate shield. it was put on professionally . you tube this film. its self healing and you cant even notice its on. i weighed this vs 3m film. in my opinion 3m isnt even close to this product. do yourself a favor and look it up

Gizmo1199, I think the venture shield and 3m brand is same as the kit I purchased says this brand also.

It's probs the same thing just branded differently.

Finally after spending half the day, the bike is complete! It's labour intensive squeegeeing the film but equally rewarding when done!

The product is basically invisible and is money well spent! Can't really give pics but YouTube the product and you will see how it is done!

What's the cost of this product? Sounds expensive..." Self healing".

I had a full venture shield on my bike. I took it all off except the tank part, way too many nicks and discoloration which gave the paint a dull look.

CaliDuc, I can see what you mean as over time I'm sure this will happen no matter what the seller tells you but I suppose I just don't want the stone chips as that's irreparable without replacing or re-spray.

How long did yours take for that to happen? I hope your Pani is not full time parked outside??

It took about 3 months. My bike is always undercover in a garage.

It total BS about the guard being able to repair itself and the edges of the guard collect dust. The shield can not be cleaned with products such as Plexus. The guard is far too easy to nick and scuff and ended looking really bad quite quickly.

I decided to take it all off and simply get a respray if needed at some future point.

The 3M Venture Guard is a waste of money.

Good thread. I dont have any of these, but of they work as well as the one on wifes Lexus GS I would def give it two thumbs up and a snap! (Anyone remember that saying?) Lol

here is the link for the xpel ultimate. Watch the video. Trust me its worth every cent. I had it professionally instaled cost me 600 all in . i am not sure if it was precut but its the same cut as all the rest so maybe he cut it. it has a 10 year warranty . almost forgot you can wax it cause it has a clear coat to it and doesnt turn yellow.

Self Healing Paint Protection Film - XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film

Do yourself a favor get it done professionally. its well worth it. In my opinion its by far the best out there at any price.

Any Sydney members know of a good installer in Sydney that has applied any paint protection to an 1199. I am halfway thru putting on a Tankslapper kit but I do not think i am doing too good a job. Need someone who does it better and will just have to pay.
