Hate to think what would happen if he got any form of tankslapper at those speeds. Ouch!
Issues happen, its part of the game, look at Guy Martin in the Triumph who had steering issues we warned them about, their bike goes nuts at 200mph and then he broke through and salt conditions left him way to slow.
Your seating laying down on your back and what seat there is contains dry ice and water for the intercooler.
Bike runs 2 factory custom Hayabusa engines they build to spec per the teams request. Basically they are the stress testers for that engine. They run around 35 lbs of boost which may change with the custom turbo they had built for the 10,000' elevation. Should make 1100+ HP to the rear tire. Bike does not even hook up until the top of third around 290 ish MPH. It has a wicked powerband
The problem arises from engine failure which throws weight to the front wheel unloading the rear tire and the rear comes out at speed. You can only hope to get the chutes out at that point. Wind and wet salt has caused the rear to come out at over 300 resulting in the worlds fastest crash which Rocky walked away from because he got the chutes out keeping the bike from tumbling sideways.
The old members here remember when he dumped it testing without skins trying traction control and the bike and Rocky were screwed up around a 100 mph resulting in a shoulder bones being broke against the harness/belts and the upside down impacts. Knee tendons shredded from the leg restraints.
Robinson and the Ack Attack go down hard!
Anyone who thinks its a matter of pinning it and shifting gears is sorely mistaken. At speed he is going a mile in 9 seconds. Last year we lost the co driver in his own streamliner when Sam Wheeler lost control at 200 mph and the wreck was fatal when the bike came apart.
Lucky for Rocky this is the only streamliner with a full protective cage for the driver. These are the pros. As Rocky states every person who has tried has wrecked trying so its best to be prepared. The record on average only increase 5mph from previous records every ten years.
The competition not running at this event have bikes that are 200 mph bikes they are pushing to 350 ish speeds unsafely. Rocky's bike is the only true 400-450 mph bike that exist.
