I deleted the abs. Lights on of course now is there any logic in the ECM that will tell the bike to derate or anything weird? Light just stays on correct?

Did you just bypass the lines and plug the ports on the ABS pump, or did you remove the entire ABS pump?

Removed everything

I haven't revisited this for a couple years, but I know on my original 899 the bike would not run without the ABS pump present and accounted for by the ECU. We ended up plugging the ports and left the pump in place. Perhaps someone else has more recent experience/data they can share.

A guy on here named baccullus did it to his S by replacing his stock harness with an non-ABS S model harness (assuming you want to retain the DES).

I used a non-ABS, non-DES harness. That route required ducati tools for reprogramming. Without the reprogramming you'll have the usual warnings on the dash, but more importantly your DTC will not function.

It started an ran just fine. Just lights on the dash. It's half apart right no so I can't ride it. But I'm assuming traction control would still work since that's done with the engine correct? I didn't mess with tone rings or wheel speed sensors

The bike will run just fine but if you have a DTC display value of '-' (instead of a number) your DTC isn't working.

I disconnected the module from the valve and the light is off and the des shows a value again

I'm Looking to do this with my 1299S build after many calls to ducati and there mistake with having same parts no. for both 1199 and 1299 abs front pipe even when part is totally different, they still not getting it. Dealers just say, same part no = same part, even after showing them images of both parts ?????

So as it stands rightnow, even IF I wanted to order new part (which I don't) I would only end up with wrong 1199 abs pipe again.

So,
Would love full ste by step instructions on how to get rid of the abs setup and the expected fault codes myself.

Anyway help???

An old thread, but I have just done this on my 1299s race bike with no issues.

All I did was turn the ABS off in all modes and plugged the pump off and ran lines direct from master cylinder, brakes have a much better feel now on track.

The Orange ABS light remains on the left side of the dash which I believe this stays on anyway if ABS is turned off, but I get no 'error' codes and I don't want to turn ABS back on to find out if it throws any errors.

Cheers,

Mike.

so you mean you plugged the electrical connector off and completely removed the ABS unit ?

Your traction control still works?
