I have a 2020 V4 and would like to get an upmap. To get an upmap I need a slip-on so I've been considering the black Termis or the Akra. The Termis are a lot cheaper and I like the look, but I heard that they have reduced ground clearance at the track.

Does anyone have experience with tracking a V4 with the Termi slip ons? How about the Akras? If I can't use either at the track, they are no use for me.

For what's its worth, I think the Termi get a bad rap from a heavy (no insult intended) YouTube personality scraped them on a Streetfighter V4 who as far as I can tell never got the rear sag sorted right. You can't be 250+ and ride a stock spring and have a beef with ground clearance. But, I haven't tracked a slip-on. Take my view with a grain of salt.

That's helpful. I will say that Austin Racing's slip-on says that their V3 canister doesn't have track clearance and one must select the Mini V3. What do you track with if you don't have a slip? A full undertail?

Full Akrapovic (the underbody) system on a 2021. I'm not an elbow dragger by any means, there's dudes here that could stuff me with a 600. But, getting my suspension sorted was near my first mod. I'm not huge, currently 215lbs at 6'-3" but still could stand to loose some lockdown weight. A 165lb Italian I am not.

You always come thru! I’m not an elbow dragger (or currently a knee dragger) on the V4. But want to able to grow into it for taking it to the occasional track day at bigger tracks where I want something different than my 899. Looks like the black termis should be fine.

Honestly I wish Rapid Bike made a module for the V4 and I could keep my stock cans.

For a track bike sorted out suspension (sag) is probably worth twice as much as engine (exhaust) performance. Even on the street, getting the suspension figured out made the bike so much better.

I had the Termi slip-ons on my bike. The only reason I have the full Akra is that I came across an eBay seller who was a Ducati dealer on the east coast selling the full system for maybe $3.5k. Which is probably what it should cost.

I have mixed feelings about Rapid Bike. I tried it on my 1199, and the bike would randomly turn off on me. It adds a lot of complexity in terms of failure points.

I’ve had rapid bike on both my 899s with stock exhaust and loooove it. Smooths out the torque curves so much and helps the low end idle.

Ohlins Cartridges in both 899s. V4 has the Showas which is soft for my weight but good enough for what I use it for.

You can buy a T800 UpMap and run it with the stock exhausts. I'm sure a seller has done this and put the results in this forum before?

I still have the Showa forks in my 22 Panigale track bike. I think they're brilliant. K-tech sell springs for them, and you can buy the fork tools from Laser. The damping adjusters work as well as anything else I've previously tried (which wasn't always the case with OEM Showa).

I think the forks on the 20 base are the same, as the 22 base. If so, stock springs are 11.5Nm, which is very stiff/strong.

I’m at my limit for the rear shock and forks in my ‘20 Panigale V4 at 215 pounds with gear.

I wouldn't be surprised with the shock, it's 100% .....

Each to their own, and to their individual riding style, but you're only around 5kg heavier than me. Def worth trying a shock upgrade and seeing how that goes first!

Interesting...my suspension shop couldnt get me where I needed to be on any of my bikes.

To be honest two ducati dealerships and trackside suspension and tuning couldn't get me situated. We called Ducati and were told that the bikes are spring for 165-180 pound riders. Trust me I'd rather not pay $1700 for cartridges on top of $18k - $22k for each bike lol. We couldn't even find a spring that would work to just replace the spring for the Showas.

I have had the Termi Slip-ons for about 6 months now. I am a bit agnostic about them, but for the price and the look they are good. I truly would love to have something "different looking" like the full system offers, but for the street its not needed. But the look of the Termi Ucite is nice. I can't say the sound of the Akra is worth it, and the Termi slip-ons have a nice sound now they have broken in. The bass or baritone of the full system would certainly be nice.
