I thought I would put up some pics of a prototype aftermarket air filter, built by MW-R in Belgium....these are the first pics available.

This filter will be used in a Panigale that will be raced by the Australian Race Team and will give around a 5% increase in Horsepower due to its abilities to allow for a very high increased in air flow.
Due to this higher increase the Panigale will have to be tuned to be able to make proper use of this.
As this is a prototype it is unfiished, but will come anodized.

For Australians they will be available through Suppliers of premium motorcycle parts and accessories - Motocicletta.

Just give them a call and talk to Steve he is always keen to help a Ducatisti. I also understand that there is a high possibility that they will be handling Carbon parts by http://www.carbonvani.com/en/home.php

Also for some who dont know, Craig McMartin won 2 races in events held at Eastern Creek, Sydney over the weekend.
This is the first outing on this bike.
Seems the Pani is doing well considering it really hasnt been out for more that 3 months.........Makes me want mine even more as I hear all these good reports coming in:(

Hey mate ... Are the accessories shops paying for your wife's current trip away?

If not, they ought to! :D

On a more serious note, will the filter be a straight physical drop in, other than a remap?

Also available from Radical Ducati they just posted it ;-)

Radical Ducati S.L.: New 1199 PANIGALE MWR Air Filter‏

Yeah I am sure they will start making a apperance now.

I like the bikes those guy's do.....been at that site for awhile now and would like to get a wrecked 1198 to do up like the one in my avatar.

Lol...nah mate I just do it for the love of Ducati's and if I use it on my bike then all the more reason to.

Re serious note...Yes:D

Is it just me or is anyone else wondering how air gets filtered through aluminum??????????????????????

strange design, i looked at it and was wondering how the performance can be improved with a reduced section, by putting an aluminum plate in the center???? really weird.
they claim to speed up the flow and making it more even for the stream into the throttle bodies...

i don't buy it.

The company have been doing race filters for awhile now and have been used in the 1198 race bikes here...that is where the 5% increase came from.

They will be used by the Australian race team, so I dont think they would put them in if they didnt work.

I know as soon as my bike has been through it's full run in period I will be adding it to my list of engine upgrades.

@ Wallaroo Love their "Vendetta" kit, I still have my 848 and I've been thinking to either keep it as a track only bike or the alternative is customise it. That Vendetta bodywork has been high on my list, and likely the way to go, if I keep it as a road bike.

If I do it, I'll post some pics to make you jealous, same as you are making me crazy with all the 1199 carbon and paint schemes!:p
