Hi guys, I have a problem exactly as the title reads. Recently bought a 16’ 959 with 7800 miles, and the bike just got serviced on the day I bought it.
*it has throttle spacers installed

1.it came with evo tech shorty clutch lever. I couldn’t find the clutch point that well. Stalled a couple of times, less than perfect shifts from 1-2.

2. Installed a CRG long lever which makes shifting much better to my liking. However, immediately I noticed the throttle response was different, twitchy and unable to ride smoothly. For instance, one time when I rolled off the throttle, rpm stayed at 3k so the bike kept going forward.

3. Evo tech lever missed a pin which would engage the micro-switch below the clutch, that allows the bike to start in first gear. New CRG has this pin and I installed it.

to be frank I don’t understand why this happens. No engine light warning or anything. Have absolutely no idea how a lever affects throttle response. I’m gonna take the spacers off, or taking off the pin, or switching back to the evo tech. Because I don’t feel safe riding into a corner with such an extremely twitchy throttle. Even when applying throttle carefully, i feel the throttle as 0 or 100, not linear at all.

Yeah you can't just throw any lever on, and even some MC's that are missing the bits will cause trouble.

The clutch switch effects throttle mapping. You will not be able to ride the bike with that circuit engaged. You need the switch or if you do not want it, you need to omit the switch with the circuit in the correct configuration however you will not be able to start the bike in gear.

Just wanna come back for an update. The problem was the micro switch located underneath the clutch. It was stuck in the “in” position, which interferes with the ride by wire. Another guy on the 899 forum had exactly the same issue.
