Hi, First post here, I have a 2017 1299, unfortunately had a little slide into the weeds that resulted in damage to the fairings- one side is pretty totalled. Looking at the OEM prices and my insurance excess, just wondered if anyone has had any joy with the cheap versions of ali-express or fleabay. Did a bit of googling and it seems a hit and miss affair but most of the info is a few years old.

FWIW, I took my time and collected replacement parts from the Classified section here & eBay, getting OEM parts. I'm not sure about the 2017, but 2015 fits my 2016 without issue.

OEM Parts & Cost:
48212031AA - Right Tail Fairing $312.41 ($175 on classifieds)
481P1182AA - Headlight Fairing $882.08 ($250 on classifieds)
48017562AA - Right Upper $661.56 ($275 on eBay)
48013355AA - Right Lower $502.08 ($85 on eBay, some minor scratches)
8291E183AA - BRACKET, HEADLIGHT $339.96 ($220 on eBay)

Big thanks to the folks of this forum for putting up their spare parts for reasonable prices!

I just received some race fairings from Moto XP Ricambi. The paint quality is superb! I emailed the guys several times and they responded quickly and there was no problem with English. Send them a mail and let them now what pieces you need. Very likely they can sell you only what you need and painted to match...or a completely new set painted to order.

Buy the dp track fairing kit (unpainted original panels) and go to a decent paint shop.

I bought a set of Chinese ebay fairings for my 848 after the second time I lowsided as I didn't feel like dropping another 3k on the thing.

Honestly they are damn close to factory. Considering I paid $300 for a full set I was more than happy. Id say go ebay all day just do a bit of research on the specific seller.

I just bought the DP track fairing kit (P/N 97180271A) and painted it with some Colorrite rattle can paint, sanded with 3,000 grit & polishing compound. The orange peal is horrendous, but I wasn't really going for quality finish. Most of my miles are on track days. I just don't want to ruin the OEM fairings if/when I go down.
