It happened sooner than I expected. I bumped into my mirror and the stem promptly snapped. While looking for a replacement, I came to this mirror stems on eBay. They are cheap, so the experiment will cost me more in time than money. Wondering if anyone has used them and what they think?
eBay item number is 225726947131

Worked out great. Quality is on par with Ducati OEM (although considering how easily they break, it doesn't mean much). Installation was OK; I had to snap the original stem to remove the wires and widen up the hole of the new stem just a bit (I think the wires were routed before mounting the connectors inside the mirror), but nothing dramatic. Installed, it is indistinguishable from the original. I bought just the left stem and repaired the mirror for less than $20.

Could you elaborate how you removed the old stem? I removed the 2 screws inside and pulled out the mirror glass too. The old stem is however not budging. Thank you 😊

You have to remove the tilting mechanism to gain better access to the 3 screws that connect the mirror housing to the stem. The blinker has two tabs which require some force to move enough to separate it from the housing.

Good work, as a sidenote, we've all complained about the useless stock mirrors that break when you look at them but you don't want strong mirrors because in a fall, you want them to break rather than the fairing stay

I've come to the last screw that's behind the blinker. Do we push the 2 tabs down or sideways to remove the blinker? I don't want to force it in the wrong direction and break the blinker. Thank you.

Yes, the tabs on the blinker are bit hard to push. If my memory serves me right, it was a bit hard to tell where the ends were, but if you push and nudge, you will get the idea of how to move them out of the way. Take your time.
