As is tradition by now, when Saturday arrived at Mugello, everyone waited to see what fantastic new helmet graphic Valentino Rossi wore. The tension was like electricity, and the higher the tension was, the more it charged Valentino. This more or less sums up the special graphics designed by Aldo Drudi.
Yellow perfectly describes the ever-increasing charge The Doctor had over the course of the weekend, and he shone brighter than ever in the race on Sunday. As usual, Valentino used his helmet to poke fun at his problems. 2015 started with flat batteries on the Friday that gradually charged up as race day got closer. So what could be better than a solar panel on the helmet shell? The panels on the top that charged Valentino blend in with a mirror-finished part which reflects the charge he gets from the public. "We made this helmet because the energy of fans penetrates it and pushes me even harder. I will try to use every ounce of it" explained Rossi.The chrome-finished parts of the Pista GP helmet symbolically mirror his fans and the packed hillsides around the Mugello track.
On the right, the helmet features the number 46, the recycling icon and the words Energia Rinnovabile (Renewable Energy). The left shows Yellow Energy and the paw prints of Rossano, Valentino's cat and the ones of his dogs, Cesare and Camilla. The back of the helmet has different energy levels, starting from bright red for free practice and moving up to the maximum level of yellow, Rossi's favorite color, on the starting grid. The chin guard features a design that resembles a blue solar panel pattern. The lower part of the Corsa helmet features a design that resembles a solar panel pattern. The Sun, one of Vale's favorite symbols, gave him a big enough boost to put him on the podium at Mugello in 2015.
