Guys I’m doing a 12000k service wondering if a performance after market filter is of any benefit over the stock filter ?standard 1299 no engine mods

you probably won't notice any real difference with an aftermarket air filter, but its a fairly inexpensive mod for parts and labor. As long as any filter is in there that's in good condition, it'll be fine.

If its dirty I'd replace it. If its original to the bike its probably due to be replaced anyway.

Plus for aftermarket ones are you can clean and oil instead of buying a new one.

Managed to get a BMC filter locally it was almost double the price of the stock OEM filter ..Ducati SA are just ..... ..I asked if they could send the stock filter they have in stock to the Cape Town branch as I was happy to have just stock ( I’m not a competitive rider by any stretch of the imagination) Ducati SA with great fan fare announced the opening of the Cape Town office a few months ago… they said no problem but need to charge me fright and that’s an additional cost, a local independent bike parts dealer track mac sourced a unit at an office in Jo burg and sent it down no cost for shipping

Having been through multiple Ducatis dealers in SA in the past who come and go I must say Ducati do themselves no favours with customer support.

Anyone on here who can comment on the BMC?

if the original is clean blow it out and keep it. if not id get whatever is more easily available. the sprint one does flow more air but like all tuning parts has to be considered as part of a group of things. If you flow more air you need to compensate or at least check the fuelling AFR.
I would rather spend any extra money on a dyno AFR run even if it just smoothed out the dips for emissions its worth it....
