Akrapovic Full Exhaust Questions

There is always more "smell" when you eliminate the cat although I don't particularly notice me or my clothing smelling any worse. With both my Monster 1200 and 1299 Panigale, the slip on exhaust removes the cat. With most Japanese bikes, in order to eliminate the cat, you would need a full system or a slip on with a link/mid pipe.

slip on removes the cat as well? is the cat integrated with the mufflers/cans, or is it in the pipe section above the cans?

the akra pikes may be bigger diameter (can't confirm), but there is nothing inside the pipes. The cat is inside the muffler so a slip on will eliminate the cat, or send it to Phil for a cat delete mod

The Panigale has an integrated cat with the muffler so yes, a slip on removes the cat. Also, the Akrapovic full system has the same diameter (60mm) header as the 1299 stock exhaust (but bigger than 1199 stock-58mm) header. So the only benefit of a full system on a 1299 is lighter weight (titanium vs SS) , aesthetics, and cleaner welds.

Thank you for the info fellas. I guess I may not have much of a choice in the future, full system or slipons, means no cats either way.

I have the full Aka. My bullets for the system is:
1) Louder , and not to loud with db killers
2) Extra power (especially midrange)
3) And most important for me the crazy blowing sound from the exhaust when changing gears up. My friends 1299 stock does not have it like that.
