Hi,

I just got done installing the AKRAPOVIC slip-on for the R and when I connect the up-map and turn on the ignition. nothing happens no up-map just the normal screen.
What am I missing or doing wrong? No instructions were given on using the up-map. thanks

1199 or 1299?

oh so I cannot connect the up-map to the DDS myself?

You can't upload the up map through the data connector under the seat. Only the 1199 allows it. You must take it to the dealer and they will use their DDS to upload your key.

Why did they revert to this line of nonsense ?

Duhhh P.A.

To give everyone else a taste of what you're used to but in a slightly different way. You know.....Mr. Arsehammer.

Hey Nikko, how do you like the akro slip on? Louder? Smoother? Quicker? Also, did you remove the exhaust valve servo motor? Does the kit come with the dummy plug? Sorry for all the questions, looking to do the same myself, just want to be sure before dropping $3500 on fuggn slip ons.

Thanks
Ken

The FULL Akra EVO Ti exhaust can be had for that price if you shop around.

And in general, I would buy absolutely nothing straight from Ducati. That goes for exhausts, carbon fiber, gear, everything. They seem to think that just because it has "Ducati" on it or because it is listed as "official Ducati", they can add some ....... ridiculous premium on top of the normally ridiculous cost.

...when the exact same .... can be had elsewhere for much less.

Check around I only paid $3450 or $3400 cannot remember for a full Akra system for the 1199. That was from motomummy in mid 2014.

Hey Kenny, the slip-on looks way better to start with. Why Duc and Akra does this to a R is just crazy. The kit comes with the y-pipe that replaces the stock so yes it will remove the servo. you would need to trace and remove that cable or just tie it down. No check engine light by the way. As for sound, its louder for sure but in looking at it looks like there is a silencer. Tried to take it out by removing that one nut that looks to be holding it in but no go.
Given I need to take it to the stealer for the up-map I'll just have then remove that if it can be taken out.
So this kit does come with everything minus the install instructions and I paid 3800 free shipping no tax from AMS Ducati in Texas. No need need for a full system, actually they don't have any listed for the R just so you know. The R comes with full Ti but to sell it in the states they had to change off the cans. If you do decide to buy it make sure its the part 96480891A which is just for the R model.

I picked up the full Akrapovic at Carpimoto for $3,042 tax free + free shipping.
Lowest price I've seen

Full system evo works fine. Slip ons do not. Meaning from 1199 to 1299 or R.

Fantastic. Thanks for the info. Why this R did not come with a full race exhaust is beyond me. They say the stock one is good but you can tell its choking the exhaust gas. Anyhow, I will be making the leap; I think I'll even remove the entire servo motor; did that to my 2012 1199s.
