Called my service manager...says they just received a notice on it from Ducati. Ordered a new one and says the are planning to place an expansion block to keep the plastic off of the wider pipe. It will be covered by Ducati.

Immediate temporary solution:

I took matters into my own hands and took off the lower fairing, coated it with reflective heat tape and made my own block by placing a flat 1/8 inch thick faucet washer on the inner aspect of the faring which the bolt goes through, and cemented a beveled 1/2 inch diameter faucet washer to the rubber grommet that already exists for a nice 3/8 inch clearance (tapered side pointing outward toward the inner aspect of the faring)

The space made with this mod keeps the faring very clear of the pipe and also clear of the brake lever mechanism. You'd never even know it was there.

Wish I had done this when I first read a thread about it but was complacent and procrastinated just enough. No big deal, I caught it relatively early on so cosmetically, it's not truly noticeable unless you're down on the pavement looking upward at the bubbled surface.

So....Check your "clearance Clarence". <- lets see who gets that one!

Can you fly this plane and land it?
Surely you can't be serious.
I am serious, and don't call me Shirley

Could you post some pics of your temp solution ?

I _JUST_ had mine replaced under warranty as well. My guy put heat tape on the inside of the new fairing, and simply put some washers and a longer bolt in to space the panel out. Works like a champ. So glad it's covered, that single lower panel is 650....

I noticed the inside of the panel was melting when I was checking the oil so heat taped the inside which has stopped it from blistering the outside. I'll wait until the service to get it sorted properly.

Makes me wonder (yet again), but to be honest, does Ducati carrying out any real world testing on their exhausts? Or is this a factory .... up from the initial R & D. The mind boggles at times.

-have you ever been in a cockpit before?
-no sir, I've never been up in a plane before.
-ever seen a grown man naked?

Sounds like it's hit and miss. Had mine installed 700 miles ago and had no issues with my fairing.

They don't all fit perfectly. Even with the slip-ons, I've seen them shift a little left or right. If yours wasn't put on with this in mind, it may be closer to the fairing than others.
