I've been riding a Kawasaki Z900 RS, but my gift to myself for loosing enough weight to fit on my son's 696 Monster and 959 Panigale was to purchase a 1299S for myself. So 125 Lbs. later I found a 2017 pristine example in NM with only 1636 miles on the clock. Had it shipped to Pittsburgh and she arrived yesterday. Now it just needs to stop raining/snowing and warm up!

Now is the time. Congratulations on your sweet bike, and the weight loss.
dont u dare take it out in the snow!

Congrats! Awesome choice to go with the 1299 V2 where most issues are ironed out. Its one of the most sorted stock bike I have ridden in addition to my BMWs and the rear brake actually works for a Ducati. Has an aluminum tank so no expansion issues. Throttle is smooth.

Congrats, I sold mine last summer due to back and shoulder problems, and miss it. I’m torn between getting another 1299S or the V4S now that my PT got me all fixed up.

Test ride time, DCP! Maybe you outgrew your love for the rawness of your 1299... maybe it’s that brutality you miss. Congrats on the recovery!

They offered to let me test drive a 19S and a new 20S V4, to see how they both feel. Yes the 1299 was a bit raw feeling and I liked that. Seeing how the reviews of the 20S say it’s easier to ride, I probably don’t want that. But it’s hard to find a clean 1299S and I want a 17 with the upgraded windscreen, foot pegs and software update and of course by then, they had the nits all fixed. I really need to choose soon before prices go up or the 19 gets sold.

Didn't know 17 had upgraded screen? My 15 came with a smoke bubble screen but I need to change the footpegs pronto. Boots are slipping when hanging off unless I conscious dig my feet in.
