Had my bike back for a couple days from the shop now and have been too lazy to post this until now. Got home from the shop to find black .... all over my bars and tank. I can see oily .... running down the brake fluid reservoir....
Should I just pull the top two screws off and see if that rubber gasket/insert is shifted or should I yet again go back to the dealership? If resale values hasn't tanked on this bike is have it gone tomorrow. But I'm not taking a $9K depreciation. I'll blow the bitch up before I do that.

Thanks in advance to anyone with advice :)

Happy Sunday!

Pardon the grammar. My iPhone loves correcting words that don't need correcting. Another piece of technology that I wish I hadn't gotten involved in.

Stop breaking your 1199 man!!!

Jk that sucks. Do you kick kittens or something? How are you so unlucky.

Brake Fluid will ruin many surfaces it is left on. It will eat through paint in a few hours.

I would get it cleaned up and return it to the dealer :-/

Or light it on fire... one of the two.

I don't hurt kittens! I promise!
Yeah, the tank is stained. I tried cleaning it once I noticed it and it won't clean off. I don't know if the marks can be buffed out, otherwise Ducati will be replacing my tank. The fluid also got on the mounts, triple trees, and forks. It cleans up without a problem but I left it to show them. Just wondering if the regulars here experienced this too? Obviously I'll bring it up to the dealer about it, just wanted to know if any of you experienced this?
Amazing how two drops of .... ruin a tank.

Until later

Oh now I get what you mean! Yeah the second I picked it up from being there a month I looked it over. It was fine, so I don't blame them for this. I don't believe they should've touched it. Maybe they did but I don't know.
As soon as I got home I noticed it all over the place.
When I did pick it up I noticed some bolts were rusted but they maybe happened the night I left it out when the shifter fell of so I don't care about that. I'm going to contact lux machine about new bolts because they're completely rusted.

You air are an angry man

No. I'm not. I'm angry at the fact that you are here ruining our forum. You've done nothing but post baseless ........ that in no way contributes to anything going on here.
You've bumped classified ads that are marked sold. You've bumped your own thread after just an hour of no replies. You commented on duc's photos from nearly 2 years ago for no reason. You made close to 200 nonsensical comments.
STOP!
Spend the next three weeks reading the forum before replying. You obviously aren't learning? FOr two days I've been messaging you telling you to stop and I'm sure others have too. Keep your crap up and we'll just continue to report you.

And I would argue that you don't even own an 1199, let alone an R. I don't believe you have these parts. Or maybe you have the bike and are selling the parts, but would just take a money order and then never send anything. Everything about you is "Absolutely 100 Guilty" (A play on the words at OJ's trial)

White13Pani,

Do you have the Rizoma reservoirs installed ? If so, then the leaking is coming from the crappy tubes that come with the Rizoma reservoir tanks. I recommend getting some transparent Brembo 6mm tubing which fit the Rizoma reservoirs and will not crack in the sun.

Hey Cali, nope I'm on OEM reservoirs for now.
I saw your post from a few weeks back and that prevented me from springing for them. I got the bike back from the dealer Friday after the gear-change lever issue. Got home and noticed it was everywhere. 2 very small stains on the tank.
Dealer called me back and offered to pick it up again. I said I'll call them back. (Wasn't giving bike back after 1 damn day)!
Now we'll see if they get a warranty replacement for my now stained tank, or if they try buffing it out. Because if I see ANY swirl marks in my paint I'll lose it.

Thank you for the advice about the Rizoma's though. I'll maybe order them after they resolve the tubing issue.

Is it leaking out of the nipple or the tube to the nipple ? It frequently leaks from the tube to the nipple - that stupid pinch connector on a crappy fluid line). But if its leaking from the reservoir - then its another issue.

yes, get the brake fluid off as quickly as possible. Its corrosive.

if you go the rizoma fluid tanks - make sure you get the 1199 adapters. Forgot what they are. Something like CT453 or something. They attach to the end of the bar end bolt and give enough clearance for the fluid tanks when turning the bar. Do not try to use a brake/cylinder mount, a bar mount, or anything else as there just won't be enough clearance.
