Hi everyone

I recently bought a 1299S and as a first time Ducati owner, can't stop grinning every time I see the bike parked in the garage. Looks wise, it's a real stunner!

Bought it with the plan to spend approx. 50 / 50 of time on track and road

I haven't done much to it, other than a tail tidy (Fender eliminator) and tank pad. Next up are rearsets and tank grip.

Placed an order for Stompgrip and according to USPS it is still in Los Angeles, CA, 10 days after leaving Huntingdon Beach, CA!! I guess it must be Thanksgiving holidays or something causing the delays.

On the subject of rearsets, (I am 5' 9"" with 29" inseam) I really need some advice. I believe I need a set that meets the following requirements.

"¢ Upwards adjustability (My knees rest below the tank)
"¢ Forwards adjustability (I fall forwards when standing on the pegs)
"¢ Standard shift & work with QS
"¢ Rear light switch

Woodcraft are a popular choice but they don't offer forward adjustability and Sato don't release a 1299 version until spring 2016

Does anyone have any knowledge / experience of other good quality rearsets that meets all my requirements?

Also, has anyone bought the racing seat as a replacement of the 1299 seat and found it made a difference? I know there is a big difference from the 1199 seat.

Thanks for any input!

I put Lightech on my 1299S for the same reason you mentioned, forward adjustability. I got the GP version because I run GP shift, but they have a STD version also.

But FYI - even with them in the highest position, my knees still don't fall on the sides of the tank...and I am 6'2" with a 33" inseam.

The reach from the tank to the pegs is weird on the Panigale. It is good in the sense that there is plenty of room (I am normally uncomfortable with my rearsets in the highest position, but I can get away with it on the Panigale). But it is weird in that my knees don't fall anywhere near being in the "sweet spot" for gripping the tank while braking.

This is what I did to my DP rearsets, bringing the pegs 15mm forward. I had a set of machined spacers that are thinner to replace the stock ones.

I have a 30' in seam. Rearset at the highest position.

Hope this helps...

Woodcraft pegs are on an esentric so there is some adjustability in every direction.

I've always used the Rizomas, but with only 2 peg positions they don't have near enough adjustability. Acquiring the CNC...lots more adjustability. I have shrimp legs.

I was debating this same question for months before pulling the trigger on the CNC Racing RPS rearset.

It boiled down to the DP rearset and the CNC. I was leaning towards the CNC and found an awesome deal on the CNC which made the choice easy.

Tons of adjust-ability, solid quality, and replaceable parts in case of a crash.

I'm 6'1 with 33" inseam and wanted to fine tune the foot position and shift lever action which the CNC has. The only real gripe I have about the CNC set is the shortish pegs. They are super grippy though.

Thanks all for the replies. Still haven't pulled the trigger on rearsets, I may wait till Sato release their 1299 version. They have the best upwards and forward adjustability afaik.

I did order a DP racing seat, although I received the comfort seat by mistake! This has helped somewhat by keeping my position further away from the tank and raising height by about an inch. It's actually pretty comfy as well and can still just about touch the ground on tip toes. Will keep it rather than send it back for the racing seat.

Gia Moto. Top position is 15mm up and 7mm forwards :) Works with standard shift pattern, and with the DP reverse shift kit :)

Installed the Sato rearsets for the 1299.

I have them set up +25mm forward (this is standard, you need a spacer if you want to set them further back) and +35mm up.

Still need to mess about with the pedal position but the pegs are now pretty much spot on for me. I have the standard shift set-up but you can switch to GP-shift if you select either the +25mm or +35mm position.

Brake light switch was also included.

A bit pricey but I think they offer some of the best upwards and forwards adjustability out there.

Off to the track tomorrow so will get a chance to really test them out.

The tank position was the dominant issue when I took mine to the track. Under heavy braking my inner thighs are nowhere near the sweet spot. Kind of a pisser. I had picked up an 899 seat (for my 2012 1199) which is a significant bit thicker than the stock 1199 seat (~.5 - .75" thicker) so I'm hoping that'll help a little bit. Granted, it probably won't help out your situation as you seem like just a racer type so a thick ... seat wouldn't be the best option I guess.
