Anyone want to guess what the top speed of the 2015 1199R and the 1299 will be?

1199s full termi/upmap, using the dreamo meter, going from redline into 5th the front end comes up due to uneven pavement, stays in it and speedo states 178, and rapid increase starts slowing so I back out before the bad pavement starts.

All smiles.

my 1299s bone stock did 181 GPS. now the limiter you people say you have is not a governor or anything like that but the regular engine redline. this bike is limited by the gearing. a +1 f -1 r would definitely improve top speed. but i wonder what it will do to the bikes acceleration.

It would most likely be a dog out of the hole.. 1st gear with the stock gearing now is pretty high.. go up another one in the front is lie down 2 and 1/2 in the rear then add take another one off the rear and you have a pretty slow bike in the 1/4 times.. Not much over rev on these things and when they hit the rev limiter it's all over..

I just went up two teeth on the rear and it made a BIG difference in the low end pull for the street.... I will give up 5 mph on top any day to get more pull out of the turns..
I will seldom need to hit more than about 170mph on most tracks anyway and never on the street.

If you want a sport bike with the fastest (non factory limited) top end you need to look at the BMW S 100RR..

Besides I have a 2013 ZX14 that has a full Titanium Brock's exhaust The ECU is flashed by Don Guhl and it has a Brock's custom map n the PVC and a Hi flow air filter and it is putting out 207 hp a the rear wheel..!

It will easily do over 200mph.NO fuss no muss.

My old 2007 ZX14 (1352 cc) did 190.8 mph at the Texas mile with just a full Yoshi system and a PVC and dynoed at 186.4 hp at rear wheel.....That was just in a standing mile with stock gearing. An THAT was with my big ass on it.. The new ZX14's are 1441 CC and greatly improved head flow and fuel injection systems.. I am sure I could hit 200mph in the standing mile on a good day..

No replacement for displacement :)
