Basically the reason would be to compete directly with the Factory version against the KTM 1290 Superduke R and the 1100RR with the SF and BMWS1kR. They had to answer to KTM and are trying.

I dont understand how your answer has anything to do with tyre size options???:confused:
 
Sorry forgot to add more rear tire more grip for acceleration. That's the only reason I could see it. Or maybe its just a sale ploy. They bumped the engine up so that only seemed logical to me for the different tires sizes. If not. I GOT NOTHING
