This photo is of Ayrton Senna, when he arrived at the evening gala for the 1993 Formula1 Grand Prix in Monaco, riding his 1993 Ducati Monster 900.
Senna was one of the very first owners of the Ducati Monster 900, which was first announced at the end of 1992, and launched in 1993. The 1993 Ducati Monster 900 was a pivotal new motorcycle model for Ducati and helped define the "naked bike" and "streetfighter" market segments within the motorcycle industry.
Senna appreciated the new Monster 900 for its straightforward and simple concept of finding joy in motorcycling, with a sporty engine designed for road use, and a chassis derived from the Ducati Superbike series with wide handlebars and no fairing.
Ducati recently announced the new 2024 Ducati Monster Senna to celebrate the relationship between Ducati and Senna and his love for the original Monster 900.
