Just wanted to say hi and give my impressions after not riding for years and what I think about the 1299.

Last bike I've owned was a new 06 GSXR 1000. Took a few years off to calm down before I hurt myself too bad. Now at 42 I said screw it and bought the 1299.

I have limited time to ride and have only put 350 miles on it in a month.

What I like is the responsiveness of the handling. I've already been hitting my favorite twisties(recently repaved too) and the bike seams very stable with even just a basic suspension settings.
Heat- yes. I find riding over 80 degree's out you have to chicken wing a bit to keep your ba!!s from cooking. My butt can handle the heat.I like how at 75+mph the wind hit's just right to take all pressure off your wrists too.

Have already taken the slop out of the throttle which is a big improvement.

One of the downsides is the throttle response. I can feel the electronic throttle changing input on the fly which I don't like. I've shut everything down in race mod and still not linier like a cable pull. Hopefully future tuning will fix that up.

Other than that the bike is great. No issue's so far.

Hi Slow

Welcome to THE Panigale Forum!!
You get used to the Ride-by-Wire related characteristics of this bike, don't worry!
A good and cheep enhancement would be the "Sloppy-Throttle-Killer"-kit avaiblable on this site.
And don't worry 'bout the heat, it's all in your head :) just ignore it or ask Phl.

Cheers

I think the reason the throttle is so noticeable to me is because I own a shop that builds/tunes GM vehicle's. so I see the torque base throttle issue's all the time.
Just my few attemps to wheelie the bike was very unstable which I point at the drive by wire.

Ordered some Termignoni Evolution slip-ons and talked to Rapid about tuning the ECU.

So, That should help the bike a bit and give me something to do. LOL

Tuneboy has 3 throttle response maps on its 1299 map, you can change real easy at a stop.
Kill engine, full throttle + menu up button press to select.

There's quite a few tuners that car reflash the ECU and get rid of the annoying throttle delay, let us know how you like the Termis

Pretty sure I'm going to go with Rapid. Talked to them yesterday. Being a tuner myself for cars they said all the correct things on what they did. I just don't have time to play with softwares for bikes.
