Now that most of us are seasoned Panigale modifiers, I thought we would reflect once again on best mods. This time 3 lists, bang for buck (B4B), value (VAL) and money-no-object (MNO). MNOs might include engine blueprint, carbon frame, etc.

Appearance
(not touching this one :) )

Ride ability
BRB- Pegs (new DP preferably) $100
VAL - rear sets $500

Weight
B4B Lithium battery $150
VAL Mag wheels $2.2K (also adds to performance and handling)

Protection
B4B Tank guard $30
VAL radiator guard $150

Performance
BRB Termi slipons $2K
VAL Akrapovic exhaust / tuning software $4K

Handling
B4B Have suspension tuned by an expert
VAL TTX36 / NIX30 inserts - $2.5

In the Handling department, I think the complete forks are the proper VAL entry, the B4B may be the inserts (on the base model)

I'll bite.

For Appearance B4B I'd say tail tidy wins it. For comfort/ride ability I'd throw the seat in there as well as the pegs, which are a must. For performance B4B who can argue with that air filter that gives you just as many HP as termis? (unless it's a crock of .... of course). :)

Seat, yea, forgot that :) I think the jury is still out on the filter, so a wash.

The DP comfort seat made all the difference for me, the stock seat had me sliding up against the tank, the Kyle racing Ti bar end mirrors work great and improved the look.
The last cosmetic improvement for my bike is the goofy tail light stalk. I have not found one that floats my boat yet.

+1 for the filter!

MWE street made a REAL difference in low and mid range, right where we need it!

Performance
B4B MWE filter - ~$60
MNO change everything that is AL to MG and everything that is Steel to Ti and everything that is plastic to CF. OH wait!!! there's a Pani SL for that! $65,000!!!
VAL 520 conv and new sprocket ~$300-$800

Apperance
B4B - Tail Tidy
MNO - Custom paint/Wrap
VAL - Evo, Duca, ect. machined hard parts (clips, levers, r. sets, etc.)

Rideabillity
B4B - MWE filter
MNO - Heated grips, new suspension setup software and interface, 180 rear view camera w/ HUD in helmet, Mirror delete and replace with sensors that tell you who/what is behind integrated into the helmet HUD. Oh yeah, bluetooth, navi, calls and music.
VAL Zero Grav DB tall windscreen

my $.02

lol.. I like the way you think. Why not throw in "real time LEO GPS locator with alerts to HUD if LEO=true in .5 mile radius".

i find that all of my upgrades fall into the value and b4b categories:

-DP comfort seat
-Competition Werkes fender eliminator kit (tail tidy)
-Lightech bar end caps (cosmetic)
-Shift Tech carbon fiber subframe covers (slightly reduces heat on legs)
-Shift Tech carbon key guard (cosmetic)
-Zero Gravity Corsa windscreen
-Termi Slip-on

i was gunning for the akrapovic, but i still can't justify spending that much for an exhaust. sure, the bike cost a lot to begin with. but that doesn't change the fact that it's still expensive; not to mention the tuning issues people have been bringing up. maybe someday i'll cave.

superstock manifold + upmap, MWE street and Termi cans is current setup.

This addresses the low-mid Lb/ft problem and gives more HP on top. Pricey, but next to Arka, its at least as good if not better for street use as least. Summer will tell the track story!

I reckon just get the SL.
That covers everything with a knockout punch.

Except doing wonderful things to/with Jeri Ryan, Cate Beckinsale, Emma Watson, Megan Fox, Rachel McAdams, Delvene Delaney, etc etc.

Oh boy.
Oooh Delvene.
That's enough to make a man want to put the pillion pegs and seat on the SFS.:D

Great eye candy!

The DP one is very good. IMO.

I have the DP Tail...I love it...But its stupidly expensive and doesn't even come assembled!!!

The assembly is like foreplay my friend;)
You're not getting it yet:D
You must allow the DUCATI spirit to flow through you and become one with it.
You will be assimilated.
You will comply.

If you're not going to get with the program.
Then go over to your nearest BMW Motorrad dealer and start suckling from the teat.

Ducati or the Borg??? For $329 it should be whole dude...

I think DUCATI look at it this way.
If they had to assemble it for you, then they'd have to charge you more;)

Also it gives you an opportunity to get to know your machine better and how it goes together.
You'll need that background after it's out of warranty.
Don't you know?

Besides, I'd gladly pay $329 to be assimilated.
Just ponder what we pay here in OZ, or they pay in NZ, or for that matter what they pay in all the other countries around the world.

Nope.
You got off quite lightly my friend. IMO.

More?? I am can become familiar with my bike without needing to assemble this stuff first... As for the International price differentials... well what can I say??? We do not have the free medical care you guys get.. and we have some insanely low speed limits too... so ... it ain't all cake here Dude..
