Have been speaking with the folks at Bazzaz over the last couple months regarding their custom tuning unit. It's complete and they're just waiting for the OEM connectors (that have been on backorder) before shipping out. They're providing rider support but if enough people are interested I can contact them about a forum discount/group buy for others here. I prefer their units over the Power Commanders.

The Z-FI unit retails at $379.99. IMO, a custom map will always produce better results and specific to the varying condition of your bike - fuel type, engine wear, exhaust system, and even air changes at different altitudes.

If interested, post up here or shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can sort out with them.

Cheers

Their unit works awesome! They're using my bike for development and I've been running their prototype on my bike for a few months. I like their solution with o2 eliminators to get past the bike running in closed loop most of the time, really helped the fueling.

I'd be interested.
Does this void warranty? If so, easy to take off for a dealer visit?

The harness connections are pretty intensive but the install can be completely reversed.

I'm interested in any tuning abilities that are cheaper than rapidbike and dont affect TC/ABS/EBC/QS

It functions as a piggyback unit and doesn't override any of the QS, TC, EBC etc functions. Cgalford can prob attest to that.

So the ETA is the 26th for the connectors so let's just call it early-Dec to give em wiggle room. I'll talk to them next week and see what I can sort out re: a group buy. Cgalford if you'd like to assist I'll gladly take the help and, if so, pls PM me. Cheers!

i'm under the impression, piggy-back is already interfering with injector pulse-width. How does the Bazzaz system know (for example), stock ECU is commencing traction control and it interfere accordingly or totally relinquish interfering...?

Some light here you could shed ..?

I'm pretty sure it only deals with fuel volume, not ignition timing etc. It shouldn't be an issue. It really only tells the ECU it's running lean or rich to hit the AFR you want.

Definitely interested.

Bazzaz and a dyno tune transformed my Pikes Peak.

First stage of TC, ignition point retardation.
2nd stage of TC,fuel reduction....

But how does Bazzaz know when these are "ON live" so not to interfer.still don't get it.....

How it sense TC is coming???

That's weird. Maybe they meant to QS or TC unit.

Well they def won't have those units for sale but in my conversation he said we are only releasing the z-fi. Now he might've meant just the fuel management units so that would include the AFM and the z-fi and I might've taken him too literally. But I'll confirm either way.
Cheers

To reiterate Transnone's first post, it only managed the VOLUME of fuel for optimal afr and isn't overriding the ecu of when TC kicks in or not. The ECU still controls retardation and cutting fuel under stock TC parameters.
