BBS interchangeably?

After taking off the subframe it occurred to me it may be faster to swap out subframes as a whole unit when converting to track. So I’m kicking that idea around but was wondering if the BBS unit are direct swap , ie can I buy a spare BBS unit and plug it in or does it need to be paired to a specific ECU?

There is about 7 different BBS's so easily can do just make sure you can find the exact part # to the one you already have.
