I am going to add an auto blipper. From you personal experience, whats the best one to get? Thanks

I have the Rapide Bike Race with the up/down shift assist installed and would highly recommend that. You can change the shift assist settings such as sensitivity and the blip times from the master software. Also the customer support is very good.

I had a blip box pro on my 1199 and loved it, trying the rapidbike shift assist this time for the 899 and I've heard very good reports of it I'm just waiting for it to arrive to fit up.

I should state this is for a track only bike.

Can't you just add auto blip software to the ECU? The ECU is already controlling all the functions of auto blip anyway, isn't it?

not OEM ducati stuff but Tuneboy, Woolich racing etc do reflash which you can have your shifting.

If track bike then having a tune will also help......

Has anyone had any experience with the IRC blipper?

wondering the same thing about the IRC. There are several top shelf blippers on the market and its hard to tell the difference re performance, functionality, reliability between RapidBike, BlipBox and IRC. The main difference with Rapidbike seems to be their EVO fuel management module which you have to have to get the blipper (its not a standalone, you have to have both) They say the deal with RapidBike is that it is "auto adaptive" constantly changing fueling depending on the variables they have selected for. Maybe thats a good thing, a great thing or just a thing. I don't know.

I knkw out of the box the RB one (yes i already had RB module) was very good. Do the setupon the laptop, adjust a few things on personal preference and its been great. Even with a gearing change.
Other hand Tuneboy took alot of playing with and it was mever as good out of the box as RB.

People Rave about the Blipbox, but at $1400aud jyst for this is way too much. Tbe RB Pro with the shift assit was only $1000aud.

I use the Tuneboy blipper, what i like about that is that it also works on rpm's below 3500. So if you cruizing on the streets it's way more usefull than the Blipbox alike solutions.

Bought a Rapid Bike Evo + shift assist. Looking forward to installing, but also a little nervous thinking about depending on aftermarket electronics for up/down clutchless shifting. I like the OEM up quickshifter but sometimes wonder what would happen if it stopped working as it should. What would happen if there's an error in the RB system; I try to shift without the clutch and it doesn't unload the transmission and/or auto-blip properly?

My 1299S mis-shifted once. I think I just didn’t apply enough pressure to complete the shift. Being that I kept the throttle pinned (assuming it would shift properly) the engine revved and bounced off of redline almost like the bike squeezed the clutch or disengaged the trans for me and after a second or 2 it fell back down into the original gear.

These bikes don’t seem to mess up much except when the occasional unit leaks oil but try it out under regular use before hammering on it.

Congrats on ur purchase, you’re going to love the tune and of course the up/down shift assist

Great news for anyone considering the Blip Box Pro, just this morning BSD announced a 30% reduction in the price going forward, making the system $699 now vs. $999 here in the USA! New price reflected on our site here:

I think for pure track use, no other system has the R&D on the track that the Blip Box Pro has, I've used it on several of my own track bikes, and installed dozens of them on other track bikes, and it's always been pretty well flawless. We've installed quite a few of the Rapid Bike blipper systems on bikes in the past year also, but I haven't tested one on the track myself. I did a bunch of testing with one on a Super Sport on a street bike we were upgrading, and my take was it worked well but was not perfect, required a lot of tweaking to get the cut times set and there was always a trade-off on smooth shifting for less-aggressive riding vs quick shifting at higher RPMs. Hard to beat the OEM blipper systems for mixed riding conditions since they have a lot more complex algorithms. I'm guessing if it was used for track only, you could shorten the cut times and make it work well for that narrow range of use. If you already have the RB tuning system on your bike, it might be a good consideration.

Got the chance to install the Rapidbike EVO + shift assist. Everything seems to be working well. Auto-blip downshifting is straight butter. I love it. I did have a hiccup with the shift assist install; apparently the settings for my shift assist module was all messed up, check engine light came on, bike went into limp mode. I called Yaman and got default settings loaded into the shift assist module. Bike returned to normal and the check engine light went away after a couple rides.

Now that the Rapidbike system is working great, I'll start tinkering with the cut-off times for the shift assist. Shifts feels a bit clunky compared to the OEM quickshifter for upshifts, especially for 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd upshifts. I usually cruise and shift around 4500-6000k rpm. I'm hypothesizing that with higher cut off times, the lower gear, lower RPM shifts will be smoother but it would clunkier for higher RPM, higher gear shifts. If anyone has insights on the cut-off times, please advise.

I just ordered an HM OEM replacement unit for my 1299, I’m excited to try it out.
I think I’m a bit ADD on the shifter cause it sounds real nice but my factory blipper unit doesn’t always trigger a shift

Since purchasing a 1299-S I have fallen in love with auto-blip down-shifting and would like to add it to my 959. After reading through several threads and product websites I'm a little confused. I really only do street riding (so far) and was all set to purchase the Blip Box pro until I read in the install instructions that it only works at or above 4200 RPM. Great on the track, not so much on the street. So now I'm looking at the RapidBike shift assist module DUCATI UP/DOWN Shift Assist. I can't find the install instruction for it. Does anyone know if this is a stand-alone device like the Blip Box, or does it require the EVO tuning box, and does it work below 4200 RPM?

Yamen over at RB U.S. will email you the instructions. I needed the same thing and that is what he did for me.
