I'm so sick of paying 60$ for 5gal of gas. lol

What's everyone running. 104? 110?

Which fuel can you leave in the bike and which should you not?

I was running 280gtx, but i'm thinking of changing

Most race gas you can't leave in the bike.. I run 87 ethanol-free gas and make more power than pump 93 octane so I run then when available

Is your bike a 959 Painted like an sl?

Used to run a lot of VP stuff in the old days but unsure how well it fires in these newer engines. The MR12 was top notch choice back then.

Nothing better than the smell of race fuel in the morning!! ;)

Can't recall the name of one brand that when you got a whiff of it from a bike in front of you it was so damn potent you'd literally almost puke in your helmet!!

T4 is what I run. I don't see the benefit of running MR12 or U4.4. It's damn expensive for that stuff and my bike is pretty fast. Running MR12 isn't going to make me faster. You can't leave MR12 or U4 in the bikes.

how do you get it out? lol

Syphon it out and put regular gas in the tank after your last race and run the bike around the pits for a bit to burn any left in the fuel
Line. Guys do it all the time in Wera. They run mr12 during the races and at the need of the day you see them running their bike around the pit area with pump gas.

the bike produces plenty of power and I'm not sure how much more you would get using race gas.

Plus as others have mentioned it's very corrosive and you need to drain it all out.

What does your tuner advise? Or are you just dumping it in and running it?

I've run various VP fuels over the years. Never noticed a difference in laptimes between any of them. They did various levels of destruction to my bank account though. However, I did note the following:

MR12 - Big bodied, oaky flavor with a surprisingly jammy finish.

U4.4 - Dry, tart and acidic with herbal flavors as well as tropical fruit.

C12 - Delicate and fresh, very soft tannins with fruity aromas.

This... Have you changed the compression of the bike, have you had the tune changed to reflect the need for different gas? If not, you are wasting money. You will get no benefit, besides the smell of the exhaust, and a lighter pocket book.

Yes. I think I'm going to tune it for sunoco 104. That doesn't have to be drained right?

It still is.

MR12 is the best race fuel you can get (hence the $135/5gal price).

I run MR12 in the R6 and U4.4 in the 1299S.

Keep in mind, higher octane doesnt = more HP. Octane simply defines resistance to combustion. Putting higher octane fuel in a stock bike (and bolt-on mods do not count) will gain you nothing other than a lighter wallet.
