Better head lights for 1299 base?

Hi, I'm deciding between the 1299 base and the 1299S.

I prefer the 1299 but the lights on the 1299S are a big plus for me since I live in the country side where head lights are of great importance.

Currently, I am riding the 959 which has insufficient head lights for my requirements. At the same time, the head light has a yellow tone to it.

Can I change bulbs that will drastically improve the head lights for the 1299 base?

Thanks
Rex

The LED headlight is lacking for anything resembling a twisty dark road. I did install a Cyclops H4 LED bulb in the Hyper and holy crap that thing is bright. I'm about to do the same with my car as it has euro headlights with H4 and H3 bulbs. Makes me wish my 1299 came with a halogen headlight so I can upgrade. Highly recommended to give Cyclops bulbs a try. Don't look directly at them though. Lol

Thanks, RT - so do I understand correctly that you prefer the cyclops halogen over the Anniversary lights?

Does it require anything or can you simply change out the bulbs?

Does it work for regular beam as well as high beam?

Thanks.

Yes, my Hyper puts out more usable light now than the Anniversario. That's with a single Cyclops H4 bulb. Requires nothing special to fit. They are very compact and fit inside the Hyper headlight housing fairly easily. Not sure if the 1299 housing would be as easy, but I would be surprised if it didn't fit. Maybe call them to verify. The low beam LED stays on with the high beam LED so both are on with the high beam.

It's plug and play too. No wires to cut or splice. It's powered off the OE bulb connector.
