i always see an oil thread but i never see anything on break fluid. please tell me:

1 what fluid you use
2 how often do you change
3 type of riding track or street

i use amsoil racing 4t for street and track. i change my fluid about every 2 years unless i need to change it more frequent that would be the track bike

Every spring for any bike going faster than the c-novice group on your track days. It only takes seconds to do and is cheap. Hardest part is covering the dash display.

Track riders that regularly bleed their systems don't really have to worry, they already go through plenty of fluid.

from my research the so called best there is is the castrol srf break fluid but you can only buy it in 1lt bottle which is around 70 bucks. if your only doing one bike you will throw away alot. i have 3 bikes so i would use most of that. in my bikes right now i have the amsoil racing dot4 break fluid. never had a complaint.

i hear motul rbf 600 and 660 are really good but as with anything the more you read the more you find people down on the rbf 600. oh and supposedly you need to change them every 6 months.

i hear good things about the blue stuff and there is one other brand called endless brake fluid. who knows but im interested in input

Brake fluid should be change once a year. since I'm on the track. i do mine(or have it done) two or three times a year.

I use the Motul RBF600 in my track bikes and my car. It's very high quality fluid and resists fading due to heat very well. But it does need to be changed more often, I change my car twice year and my bikes I flush every couple months.

I use whatever Dot3/4 High Temp fluid Autozone has on the shelf at the time. Change it out every couple of months.

When I was racing, I'd change it out every race weekend.

Changing it out often prevents build up of moisture/water in the fluid (which is the real problem it being hygroscopic).

Mity-Vac is your friend. :)

My Ducati Master Tech recommended that I use castrol srf break fluid. So that's what I'm using. I bleed the clutch every 1000 miles or so, and change out the fluid every year on the brakes ( usually in the spring, at the beginning of the season ).

Sounds like I need to change mine and probably my clutch fluid too. So, is the best way to perform it like Antihero's how to by bleeding enough new fluid through the system or is there a faster way? Is this the same thought process to do the clutch?

No frequency... I just renew the fluid incrementally.. every 2-3 month 1 dl or so into each system (rear and front brake, clutch). I use Castrol SRF since years and I am very happy with it, but my last order failed: It becomes more and more difficult to get it in Switzerland.
1l = 80 CHF = 85 USD Internet price. They used to sell it for 180 USD in dealer shops here in the past :(
I guess this is the reason why nobody buys or sells it anymore :)

For me the main benefit is:
- higher temp
- not hydrophil
- not aggressive to paint, chemically neutral

I installed Stahlbus bleeder valves on all systems: adding new fluid becomes a matter of minutes.
